Introduction:

Hi! My name is Austin. I'm an 18 year old from the terrible state of Pennsylvania!

Currently i'm a college "dropout" as most people would call it, but for good reason. I was in a 4-year college taking classes in a city called Pittsburgh for programming which has been a great hobby of mine since I was about 14. About 6 months into classes I was holding about a 3.8 GPA over the first semester I was there when I was offered a job back in my hometown that I really couldn't resist. At the time of being offered the job I was pretty lonely in the area I was living. I had no room mate for the 6 months I was there and my girlfriend and family were 4+ hours away which made it hard to visit them. The classes were too easy and it became very tedious and boring to complete the mass amount of homework every night. One of my closest friends of mine from high school had offered me a job back home as head shift supervisor at a company called Alturnamats which makes plastic mats for construction sites. With this job paying more then I would probably ever make from programming, I proceeded to move back home and take the job. I also love the responsibility I have with this job and crunching numbers to make sure everything runs smooth and everyone is doing their job correctly and making our quota every month to get our employees their monthly bonuses. I used to play MeepCraft about 10-11 months ago on my FBI_K9 account but I was really a nobody back then in the old meep. I came back to meep about a month ago after coming back from college and have been addicted ever since! I went from Civilian -> Ultimate the first week back and here I am now!

Why you should be Helper?

• Commitment - When the idea of becoming staff comes to mind I see it as a long-term thing, not a short-term. I've seen very many helpers/mods come and go in only a few months or even possibly weeks. I plan on being here for quite awhile so why not put that time to good use and towards improving the server as a whole?
• Consistency - Another thing I have seen on here and a few servers a bit is bringing personal bias into a moderating decision such that may be involving a friend on the server or someone you respect. I don't believe in this whatsoever. The rules are the rules and everyone is on the same chopping block as everyone else. No single person deserves more chances than the rest and should be treated like the rest when it comes to enforcing rules.
• Activity - Although my time zone may be pretty common, I'm on very consistently and get involved with the community by talking in shout, building towns, and hosting events for the players. Responding to modreq's and dealing with staff work in a timely and effective manner will be my highest priority. I also make my own hours at work and have a VERY flexible schedule so I can basically be on at any time during the day.
• Communication - I also very much believe in treating everyone the same. I'm a very down to earth guy and i'm easy to talk to and get along with. I'm also very patient even with someone who is very irate about the situation they're in. I deal with these people on the daily who are fed up with their job at our plant and want to quit.
• Responsibility - On a daily basis i'm responsible for an entire factory and more then 100+ people on 4 different shifts. I understand responsibility when its given to me and I handle it with ease.

What are your weaknesses?

• Stubbornness - If I feel like i'm right in a decision and or situation, I will be very determined to prove why i'm right in that situation.
• Forum Activity - Although i'm very active on the teamspeak and In-Game, i'm working on my forum activity which I will be greatly increasing and you'll see me hosting a lot of events for everyone!
• Over-Working - I sometimes overdue most things that I take an interest in. Coding is a very large example for me, I can go hours on end coding and not think about it, I could stay up almost days at a time developing because I took such a massive interest in learning and fixing my mistakes. I've worked on this quite a lot by going out with friends or my girlfriend but it always seems to sneak in from time to time.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know:

For 2 years I was Head Developer / Community Director for a Runescape private server called "Near-Reality" which had a peak player base of 500+ online at once and love writing java code. I was responsible for a large majority of the servers in-game content and Weekly/Monthly events while also dealing with the servers budget for VPS/Advertising/Donations and much more. It was an amazing experience. I hope to help this server much further than helper in the future if given the opportunity! I have seen you on Ts and in game, but I don't see you in game helping people. You should be more active on forums, but your app was really good so its a -/+ from me.

 

I literally hate it here so much haha. Weather is always miserable up until mid summer.
