2. Commenting on Staff Applications
The purpose of posting on staff applications is to get feedback from the community. Each person is allowed two posts on an application leaving them one post for a comment and one for a response to the applicants comment. Each post should contain constructive feedback as to why they should or shouldn’t be a staff member.


If you have nothing to add, don't comment. There's no reason to just quote a player and leave it at that, or just say +1 or -1 and leave it. if you have this rule there should be a punishment for those that break it.

 

I have already suggested this. They denied it and said if it's constructive then it's fine. If it's not they will warn the player then remove the post.

 

Except when it's not constructive they still don't enforce it. that's the problem.

 

Staff are supposed to enforce rules?

 

Sometimes they do and you just don't know They give them warnings which normal players can't see unless your the one with the warning

 

Staff be like,

 

No, because there's posts everywhere that haven't been enforced. everywhere. Maybe some. But not all. and then it's just unfair.

Rules are unlike laws. There is no inherent prompting to have to enforce a rule. In fact, rules are tools we use in order to moderate the server in general, and using discretion to apply a rule or not in a situation.

Additionally, imo, the solution is not to sink in countless time into this area warning and deleting comments that will never stop. I'd argue if this is such a big deal, we make staff applications private, which would solve the entire problem.

 

Staff actually moniters people comments on staff apps a lot. Trust me, I have had many posts deleted.
