Forum Account Links To In Game

I've seen this on other XenForo sites so I know it's possible. In the preferences section of your profile you can enter in your Minecraft Username and it will display under your forum name, and maybe set up a system where it will automaticly name your forum account whatever your minecraft is.

 

There are problems with this:

1. If it forbids multiple profiles with the same name, some noob would enter his name as Fuzzlr or Sirr_Pig before they could and it would prevent them from being able to enter their correct name.
2. Almost everyone goes by their IGN anyways so it would kind of be pointless.
3. It would take a lot of staff work just for everyone to screw around with it.[

 

Eh, +/- there is nothing wrong with the current system, but there is also not much wrong with this...

 

Enjin has this. It can link minecraft and forum accounts, count votes and award points, all sorts of cool things that would work well here... i just doubt it would work here since we have our own hosting.

 

As I said in the first post, XenForo has a plugin for this that I have seen on another Minecraft server site(that uses xenforo). It's mainly just to see who is who.

 

As I said, for you obviously did not read my post, almost everyone goes by there Minecraft username anyways.

 

You don't have to be rude, he probably read your post, and just thought it was a mute point. Which it is by the way. Putting this in will require very little staff time. Also, not everyone will screw around with this. I know players and they will use this.

 

Hmm. . Like adloves said, +/- We have a good system, and I don't think it needs adjustments.

 

I definitely think this is worth considering, as long as it's not too difficult and complicated to work. Under Consideration.
