MeepPSA: Name changes

tl;dr Probably shouldn't change your name yet.

Let's talk name changes.

Recently, Mojang added name changes to Minecraft where you can change your name for free every 30 days. This isn't fully compatible with MeepCraft yet, so here are some things to look out for if you change your name:

What you will keep

• Bans
• Universe stats
• Meebles
  
• Items / equipment / ender chest
• Votes
• Pwarps
• MeepChest
• Homes
• Creative plots
• Mail
• Donator Ranks

What you will lose

• Halo stats (*)
• Towns/nations and resident status (**)
• Skyblock (***)
• ChestShop (****)
• Last known position (*)

(*) This is planned to be fixed first priority
(**) This is planned to be fixed second priority
(***) This is planned to be fixed with an unrelated major update.
(****) This will never be fixed.

Added commands

• /seen <name> - See a player's Id

Coming soon

• /history #<id> - See a player's previous names by their Id
• /history <name> - See the previous players who have used this name

We are working hard to make the transition as smooth as possible. If you want to change your name, we recommend you *wait* until we fix all of the issues.

I'm actually skeptical of something. WILL meepcraft ever have the option to change usernames but retain everything in the 'What's lost' list? I'd like to change my name to TheLiGod, but I'm not going to do it until the system's fully integrated.

If we change our name and provide the receipt of our transaction for a certain rank, will you be able to do a rank transfer

Yes, unless you have a receipt of the purchase you could PROBABLY get it back.

Probably want to wait until admins say though.

 

What are we now going to do about inappropriate names?

 

Were they an issue before? You can also UUID ban them

 

1. There's a name filter 2.when you ban them once it bans there uuid.

 

There's always a way to get through the filter.
It wasn't enforced before.
I was wondering if they were GOING to.

 

We have banned, and do ban for innapropriate names. This is decided on a case by case basis, depending on the name, if they have donated, and various other considerations. This practice will not change, especially not now. If you come on MeepCraft with a innapropriate name, it may result in a ban.

One thing! Just one. That's never getting fixed...Wait, does that mean meepshop or v-shop is getting put back in?
