Loans

So it goes like this, Player1 suggests a loan to another player by using /loan <player2> <amount$> <time> <debt> <interest rate>

Then, Player2 either uses /loan accept <player1> or /loan deny <player1>
Loans will timeout in a certain amount of time if a response isn't made.

When a loan is made, the system will automatically take the money from Player2's balance to Player1's balance when the time is up.

You could also cancel a loan with /loan cancel. The money Player1 loaned to Player2 will then get returned to Player1.
If Player2 has insufficient funds to /loan cancel <player1>, then it will not be usable.

With this set of commands, you can give loans without being scammed.

This seems very complicated, I am in favor of the system where if you make a loan, is it up to you, and your due diligence to make the right choice. Gotta have some risk with that profit, right?

The timeout is the time a player had to accept or reject the loan.

 

Loans are dumb but if you're doing a loan the loan should be against the person's property, if he owns a plot he can get a loan of 1k per plot, if he owns a town he can get a loan up to 200k etc. There would have to be a /pay loan ____ command so he can look at his current loans, expiration dates, interest rates, collateral on each loan, etc. That way each person knows and has no excuse to not pay back the loan they agreed to. If they don't pay they give up their collateral.

If you have no collateral you can do a loan for up to 10k but if you don't pay you get banned for 1 month.

 

If a player doesn't have enough money, then that player is in debt.

I had tried getting this implemented but i believe it was denied due to being very complicated for staff to create and very scamable using public alts and different ip's

 

The difference is, with us refunding loans like we used too, this enabled anyone to give anyone else a loan, no matter how shady their reputation may be. There was no due diligence involved in the decisions, because it was not needed, you got your money back anyway. Additionally, this caused us to begin banning people who really should have never taken a loan out to put them in that situation, nor anyone would have loaned money too in the first place, if there was a chance they would not get paid back.

If I go to your store, and rob you or defraud you in anyway, I go to jail. If you loan me money and I never pay you back, it's not a criminal issue, but a civil one. The distinction is different, but the concept of distinction is much the same in my statement.

 

so i guess civil court isnt a thing, where you are judged based on proof and preponderance of the evidence and forced to pay if you lose.

 

Tbh instead of all the profit it should only be 50% of what the person makes.

Found aboose method:
1. Use alt to loan A LOT OF MEEBLES (use proxy so they cant find out who you are)
2. Somehow get your money to the your main account.
3. Never use your alt again
4. GG

Any way to get your money to your main would be traced and it would be banned. If you somehow did get it to your main, and your alt was banned, IP would still trace back to you.
