I find it is running a little too often. I cant even count how many times clear lag has robbed me of hard earned diamonds. Or other objects.

I have had an idea of a command like /cl or /clearlag and all it would do is tell the person using the command when the next scheduled clear lag will occur. So that they can better prepare for it.

(Edit) READ THE ENTIRE POST BEFORE COMMENTING! Including the other posts. This is an evolving thread. This OP does not tell the whole story.

**Pretend you never saw or read the first idea of mine** I was drunk when I thought of it.

To ensure you did not see anything I will now erase your memory.

That wouldn't spam up chat at all! Not at all a constant annoyance! Oh and it's not as if we get a 60 second warning THEN another 20 second one?!
Without clear lag being as frequent as it is force lagging the server would be a lot easier. Even if it wasn't force lag it'd still be a lot laggier.

I'm willing to occasionally lose some items for in the long run gameplay would be a lot better

How frequent is it? I am mostly a Skyblock hermit these days :I
Also @SplendyPie try Skyblock clear lag. We get a 60, 50, 20 and 10 second countdown in capital green and red letters that takes up two lines of chat. Anyway, from the few times I have ventured outside Skyblock I don't think it's that frequent anyway. -1

I actually like the idea of a 5 second warning. after the 20 second mark. 5 second warning isnt going to spam anything any more than the usual stuff said on meepcraft. But its a fair compromise. If not less frequent. Atleast give one last warning before the clear lag hits so people know to stop mining right away.

No matter how many warning we pur in people will still complain that they didn't see the warnings.

That's why I suggested the possibility of a command to simply check when the next one is going to happen.

Like if i were to enter said command right now ingame. It would simply say 4:32 minutes till Clearlag, Atleast that way people can better predict when it will occur. To be honest. I was expecting people to thumb the thing down. And disagree, I had to get a bit of a brainstorm going.

Come to think of it I wouldn't mind a command to see the next clear lag. But it should be short like /cl

Either way I'm at a +/- cause it doesn't hurt to just pay attention and if you are unsure wait until the next clear lag msg.

BTW I wouldn't consider an increase in clearlag notifications as spam as it is something I actualy need and want to see unlike half the junk that comes up in chat :p

There is one more reason I want to be able to check. Because imagine you just log on. You miss the 20 second warning and get to work on your mining duties. Only to have all your stuff dissapear. I figure atleast being able to check would be able to give me teh warning. Not just that but those messages are easy to miss from time to time during high /g activity at peak hours.

-1 clear lag is not a big deal if you know when it comes. It really helps lag and making it a larger time would really not be needed. -1

Exactly, thats why I suggested a command to be able to see when the next clear lag is going to occur. Not everybody can just predict them.

    Mind elaborating?

What would be so bad about a way to check when the next clear lag would occur?

I have a even better idea! Why don't we just have it count down every second! Then we will get people to to really pay attention! I thing big Red letters so we ruin chat! Sorry about that I feel really sarcasm but this isn't going to help at all, the two notifications is all we need! You can stop mining for 20 seconds it won't kill you! Even if there was a notification every second things will be lost! Sorry -1 for sure I don't need any more spam as it is! :)

I think you should read the entire thread and the direction it took. It was thought of that instead of it showing for everybody. There is a simple command you can use to check when the next clear lag is going to occur.

That will not create spam. You should have read the entire thread before posting.

Command would be my preferred albeit least viable solution, +1 for anything though

-1, I swear if we add more to the auto-spam that meepcraft has I'll freak out. (blah blah is an official member, <insert name here> won 500 meebles at city parkour!, or "Apply for staff / voting."

/cl would be cool. +1 on that.

I'm just going to edit out the first thought and keep the idea of /cl To check clear lag time.

(excuse me while I do that)

In the mean time. Enjoy some elevator music.

I do agree. If you are moving a chest somewhere and clear lag happens, it gets rid of your stuff and that has happened quite a few times. I would prefer it as well if it was a little less frequent. To be honest it really is not that frequent in the first place so I will vote for -/+

Yup, hence my more evolved idea. Of a command to simply check when the next one occurs.

I think that as long as this is easy to do (meaning /cl) then it's fine, but it doesn't seem worth it if it takes up too much time. What I normally do if I'm clearing plots and what not is scroll up in chat a little to check when the last ClearLag warning happened. If I don't see one, or I see the 20 second one, I wait it out. It's not so frequent that it ever messes me up.
