Introduction: Well, where to start. I am not going to make any outlandish claims about my abilities or anything or try to pretty up my application.

It is what it is, I merely wish to learn the ropes about how minecraft moderating/etc works. I have wanted to do so for quite a while but never really bothered to apply for it. I am a generally level minded albeit playful person. When in "play" mode. But back on Mount & Blade I could be serious and calculating when called upon. I do work armed security in real life so I know all about dealing with people on and off duty.

And have a habit of documenting any actions I take. Even when I was on Mount and Blade. I always kept a well organized log of people I had to /kick or /mute etc. And always made sure It was a last resort when reasoning with the person failed.

I dont know what tools get made available to minecraft mods and admins as of yet or if they get any external chat logs etc. But for the most part that is my goal at the time. I wish to learn the commands and things of that nature.

At this point I understand some people are going to tell me. "why not learn how to moderate and stuff on another minecraft server." Well the truth is. I don't want to do something like that for another server because my loyalty lies with meepcraft.

That said. I do work armed security. So I can actually apply my work style to a staff position.

So thats pretty much my current introduction. I have nothing else to add at the time unless somebody asks or it becomes relevant.

Why you should be Helper? I guess my main reason is because during non peak hours I often find there really is no staff online. And things tend to get quite hectic at that time. Not to mention with winter break being over. Any of the younger staff members would be offline to keep with the school schedule. I more than anything am requesting if a current moderator or helper can take me under their wing and show me the ropes.

(Gotta start somewhere right?)

What are your weaknesses? My biggest weakness at the moment is my lack of experience in a staff position on Minecraft so I may not yet be familiar with the commands. But I am a quick learner and that is my goal right now. But again... Everybody has to start somewhere.





Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: Since the day I first played Minecraft I have never ever received a ban/temp ban or any kicks of any kind. If any staff member looks up my history. My record is completely clean on here.

I don't mind doing things from the forum side of the spectrum. In fact I enjoyed taking things on a case by case basis back on the game I was playing before. Each complaint was its own mystery to get to the bottom of. Which required a thorough investigation through chat logs, combat logs. Time frames, screen shots. Testimonials etc. It is not too far off from what I do as an actual job.

I am not asking for a direct recruitment to staff. More than anything I want to learn.

I am usually online at non peak hours. I go off of EST timezone. So I am on very early morning or very late at night. More than anything the point of this application is to see if a mod/admin/helper would show me the ropes.

Ironically enough. Those times I am on are the times that there are usually very few if any staff members around.

I do not know if he/she has a forum account but SillySilver should be able to vouch that I am indeed active ingame.

 

I haven't seen you in-game much, and your still a new member forums wise.
Also, Skype is one of the main ways that we (Staff) communicate. It needs to be something you use a lot.
Your application was quite good, and I was exactly where you are now when I applied (Having little/no staff experience)
I'm going to give you a +/- as I can see that you would be good staff material, and know how to work with people effectively.

Alright, if it is mandatory. I'll download skype. And yeah. Not as many people will see me ingame as normal since I usually make a note to play during non peak hours. As to avoid lag.

 

I see ya time by time, but I dont see you helping. Your why was weak, and so was weakness. Everyone who are New in Staff team are of course Un-familiar with commands, so thats not a proper weakness when everyone shares it.

I usually am helping out new players. But I dont do it in /g. Its always in local or /tell. I help them by showing them ways they can make meebles. Giving them little "newbie" kits so to speak. Which usually consist of Iron Armor, and an echanted diamond pick. If I dont have diamonds I go buy them for people. Hence why I only have 10k meebles at the moment. I helped 4 people get started this week.

With my Weakness... I havent really been in a staff position here long enough to think of a weakness. But my "why" was a temporary answer. Once I can think of a way to word it properly.

I'll get Skype I've already said I'de get it. But at a better time frame.

On a side note, what about the application was poor. My lack of experience? Thats kind of my goal. To get that experience as a helper in the least. Or atleast have a current helper take me under their wing and show me the ropes.

Then just see where things go from there.

I have skype now.... Didnt know it was mandatory. If its that big of a deal. It took a whole 3 minutes to get it running.

It just gets depressing. Spend all the time on a server and its like I never existed....

 

I can't comment on your in-game activity and behavior since I'm banned there, however I can say that you have little to no forum activity whatsoever, your why section was a little short and I'm sure you can name more weaknesses other than not knowing commands. You got skype, that's good, but when choosing staff I often see something along the lines of: No teamspeak activity. Although I personally don't agree that that should be taken in consideration, it's not up to me, so work on that.

Just lock the thread already. No need to beat a dead horse.

 

I'd suggest really learning what the helpers do and what the job takes, you can also ask most staff members and they'll tell you.

Forum activity is a must. And you just joined in October. That's not bad, but you clearly are not active at all on forums as you are still a "new member". You didn't state any reason for staff to accept you besides "I want to learn". -1.
