I've talked to you a bit, and tried to get closer and interact with you, but i feel like you don't really engage conversation with me. You seem nice, and I think you have potential, but you have a bit left to learn. The community doesn't know too much about you, only that you seem nice.

Hello fellow Meepers and plain Minecrafters alike! I just registered so that I could put my well thought opinion into Angel's staff app

I have played Minecraft for many years now, and have been a die hard fan of servers that support leadership and responsibility such as MeepCraft. Before I begin I would like to note that I am no expert, nor am I saying any of you are wrong in any way shape or form. I simply am stating what I believe will be beneficial to the community and the lovely people who are being bold and applying for staff in front of their peers.

We are not all perfect, and Angel is no exception (neither am I ). I'd like to talk about some of the posts by her peers on here that I feel are incorrect and have been impulsively posted based on others opinions.

@Ulfsaar221 You are the first person to make a legitimate post here on Angel's app. Sorry @le gooboy but your post seemed to me to be a joking post seeing as you are basing your opinion on things irrelevant to Angel's ability to be staff in the post. Okay back to @Ulfsaar221 . You posted minus half a point because "from what you saw" she is new. I only feel that people should not post things like "you're new," or "not enough experience," because we don't know what Angel has done on other servers, whose plugins and settings are relatively comparable to the base settings and plugins of all servers. I will note that the one of the servers I play on religiously, Angel also played on, and she knows it like the back of her hand. So to recap, I don't believe saying "-.5" is totally necessary. Simply stating +1 or -1 will do. If your unsure enough to only say -.5 then just say you're unsure and would like to remain neutral! No harm no foul.

@Deinen0 I personally don't believe in allowing staff members to comment on applicants applications, because I believe it cause a bit of strife between upcoming staff and current staff. As stated above, I don't think that anyone should use the "too new" excuse to give a -1 because we don't know where Angel has come from. By the way, she almost got staff on the #1 Economy server in the world, which also happens to be the #1 most supported Bukkit server by the Bukkit company themselves (yes Bukkit promoted the server many times).

@UglyUnicorn Basing your -1 on "asks too many questions" is definitely incorrect as you can never ask too many questions. She wants to learn this server super well and gain as much knowledge as possible being that she is relatively new so that she can begin to learn the tricks that other players use on a daily basis. She is super helpful and wants to put the helpful spirit into action as soon as she can.

@GingerManOWNS Basing your opinion on other people's posts isn't the greatest looking being you are currently a staff member. If I was posting based on my opinion, I'd give a bit more reason as to why I chose to give a -1 instead of using other people's reasons, because quite frankly, others don't think for me.

@CourtneyMitchell What makes her "not quite ready yet"? Peers are here to try and improve a player, so a little elaboration would definitely help in this case. Same thing as above with @Deinen0 I think current staff should remain neutral and not post, because the staff usually have a large influence on what the players say.

@Macstre "I've never seen you helping, I don't know about ts because I'm rarely on" tells all people that you should probably remain neutral. These two reasons aren't needed as they don't influence your -1 in anyway. Also you are "rarely on" TeamSpeak, so that isn't needed as it speaks about your personal usage of a perk, not of how Angel used it to either benefit or degrade the community.

@Speedygirl102 I understand that 102 is in your name, but a -102 isn't needed as, to the untrained eye not looking for similarities, others may think that you put -102 because you feel that negative about Angel. I understand why you put 102 but not everyone does. As stated above, a simple "-1" would do just fine in portraying what you think. "but i feel like you don't really engage conversation with me" isn't a good support for your negative feeling on this topic because, yet again, it doesn't pertain to ow Angel would help the community, it only explains her short interaction with you. Angel will talk to you anytime, as long as she isn't busy, because, and trust me I know, she is a very talkative gal. There was nothing against you in her not being super chatty with you, she just may have been busy.

@Cookies713 Simply agreeing with someone doesn't support your personal opinion as to how Angel will affect the community. Elaborate and tell why you agree with the quoted statement, and if you're feeling extra supportive, maybe even add a tip or two on how she could improve!

I will be editing this post as more posts come into this thread. Please keep in mind that your personal interactions cannot support your opinion of Angel because this application is for the position that influences the community and not your personal interactions with the applicant.

You all are awesome and amazing and full of potential, and I love you all! I'd like to say put a lot of time and thought into your comments that you want to post, as your comments could make or break the success of this app. Staff allow you to post comments so that they can get a read of what others think of the skills and effort of other players, so be very truthful, honest, and careful in what you put. Remember these comments should not cause a flame war, or any other sort of rift between any party in concordance with this app.

Now because I don't know much about this server, being as I am brand new, I would like to state again that I am no expert, nor am I saying any other party in this topic is/isn't.

Based on how well I know Angel, and the extensive time I have spent with her in personal relation, as well as relation on very extensive and complex servers that are extremely popular, difficult to manage, and highly rated and supported by both players and top rated gaming corporations, I believe Angel is a very good candidate for this position. She has extensive knowledge of all commands needed to run, as well as interact/play on any server. She has great time management, as well as a great train of thought, supervision skills, and love/kindness towards others.

Her strengths outweigh her weaknesses, and she never stops proving to me not only her abilities in the game, but also her abilities to treat everyone equally and with respect.

Because of her extensive command/server knowledge/abilities, and her activeness and attitude towards helping others and resolving their issues so that both parties are happy, I believe Angel has a great chance at staff.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read my post, as I know it was long, and repetitive. I hope that your view and attitude as you post on other players' apps is positive and supportive, while remaining truthful and straight forward, like mine hopefully has been today. If anyone wants my opinion on their apps, or wants to just be friends and chat, feel free to PM me, or ask Angel to give me a jab in the side over Skype.

Anyways, I loved your detailed analysis on comments towards the applicant; but some of your comments didn't make sense.

Now onto the application/applicant;

You joined this server about a month ago as you stated in your application.

• Doesn't exactly show dedication; you can say you will stay around, but you can't at the same time.
• Knowledge about MeepCraft; Meep has journeyed around the internet in all sorts of different events and etc.
  • How are you suppose to feel comfortable about being staff when you really don't know how staff is run and etc?

You claim you have trouble trusting others.

• Being staff you will have to trust your staff mates to do the job right and efficiently.
• Additionally, you state with that, "I ask a lot of questions to get the job done right"
  • I like the attitude, but at the same time; you are un-experienced on meep.
    • This will cause a lot of confusion and asking other for help; in reality you should be capable of doing the job yourself. If you are asking other what to do/how to do it/and etc, the efficiency of staff is lowered a ton. Anyways, the staff aren't efficient as it is, so would this help them out?

You also stated, "I can be immature around friends and have fun"

• I am not worried about your maturity level; but more so with banning/kicking/punishing your friends.

I actually did like this application, long and detailed.

You seem to have lots of positives to offer to staff;

• trying to be involved
• dedication (but we don't really know yet)
• self-control
• treating everyone equally
  • this is where there is a big hole in meep at this current time

I can't really defend your points because I haven't really seen you in game.

In conclusion, I really think the points I pointed out in the beginning over weigh your positives.
Re-apply in a few months if you get denied; you do have a lot of potential.

We have to realize that she does have a life outside the game. That being said personal interaction between players isn't the strongest support for an opinion, because Angel can't interact with EVERYONE at the same time. Shoot her a PM, and if she doesn't answer right away, send her a mail, or PM her on the forums

You do relise all of he interactions with players will affect peoples looks on her.
She has to make players want her as staff by having positive interactions with the community as she grows as a player.

Being staff you have to deal with tons of people at once, that is where this server is lacking their efficiency.
Meepcraft isn't booming at the current moment since the staff represent meep and basically lose every new player.

 

Please note that the majority of that post (97%+) was written because of the potential I have seen lost because popular players make posts that are irrelevant to the subject. I have seen this over many servers, and try to inform people on better ways to improve and encourage a player in their comments. If the post appears mean to the applicant, they are most likely not going to accept that post, and will ignore it accordingly.

Now aside from that I am completely neutral on the subject and try to remain that way throughout ALL of my posts in ANY person's apps on ANY server. If anyone would like to have a long chat about my posts, opinions, and thought, please skype or forum PM me so we can keep this thread on the desired subject in order to keep it neat and orderly for staff to review.
