They are the main part of the former Soviet Union, they have a rather large military with decently advanced tech, they intervene in other's conflicts, they are their own sort of "bloc", they have more than a bit of influence, they have a rather large supply of nuclear weapons, and it takes sanctions from most of Europe and the USA to start ruining their economy. Since they are so large they have stopped many invasions, who the hell wants Siberia, they have a lot of crazy, they are allied with the PRC.

No, not thread won lol. Their military is large but the majority of their military is using cold war tech. They rely on attacking other countries to keep oil prices high which is the only way their economy has a leg to stand on. Russia has to try desperately to stay relevant in the the post-cold war era.

LOL. Proof of that nuclear weapons fact. I just saw 3 different websites, in a row, that said otherwise.
Their economy is falling apart mostly because of the sanctions from Western Europe and the USA, if falling apart is the word. Yeah, I can't really disagree with the inflation.
That odd moment when the USA attacks the Middle East for oil.

Might be the time to ask what you all consider a "World Power"
EDIT: I count a world power as like, a power, whether it be Diplomatic, Militarily, and Economically. But do you have to be great in all of them? No. Just enough to be relevant.

Russia speaks loudly and carries a small stick. That's all there is to it.

I beg to differ. If so, why have other countries failed to intervene the "invasion" of Ukraine? Russia has tons of nuclear weapons- now those are some pretty big sticks.

Even though their society is falling apart, drugs are rampant, and alcohol addiction is common, as a whole, it has a lot of money and power that is controlled by the top .1% of there country.

No country directly stepped in however the UN General Assembly condemned the actions and was a formidable force in the end of the Russo-Ukranian crisis.
The United States has a bigger stick, compared to our stick, its a very small one.

It's not falling apart just because of sanctions by the west, it's falling apart because they don't have a diverse economy with job opportunities. All they have is oil and gas and it's not as successful as any of the major oil exporters. Russia is seventh in world GDP behind Brazil. Do we consider Brazil an economic power? No. You can't even come close to comparing the economies of the United States and Russia. Russia is only a diplomatic power in the UN because they were a victor of WWII. They hold very little diplomatic power otherwise. Their military is outdated as well.

Actually Russia has a strong military. Though slightly outdated as compared to the US and other powers, they are strong. In active troops they have 845,000 and over 2 million in reserve troops. Along with that 4.4% of their GDP (90.7 billion USD) is used on their military. In the recent years with the Russo-Ukranian conflict, it was very apparent of the power that they had. Currently, Russia has 1,499 deployed strategic warheads and 1,022 non-deployed strategic warheads. On September 11, 2007 Russia tested a new bomb that could replace several nuclear warheads called the "Father of all bombs" (the AVBPM). Currently, they do not have a strong military technology force however, at the end of next year a $200 billion USD expenditure will be over, henceforth advancing Russia's military power into the stratosphere.
As well as the $200 billion USD plan called the State Arrangement Programme, there is a secondary plan in the works, launched in 2011 after the August War. This plan will have $650 billion USD invested in military expenditure and will continue to enhance Russia's prowess.
In Russia's recent purchases from privatized defense firms, they have procured 250 ICBMs, 800 aircraft, 1,200 helicopters, 44 submarines, 36 frigates, 28 corvettes, 18 cruisers, 24 destroyers, 6 aircraft carriers and 62 air defense battalions. Along with this procurement, part of the $200 billion and $650 billion plans are being used to advance the Russian military.

Military wise, they carry a big stick, economically and socially they carry a twig.

But Brazil isn't a nation that you would think about as a military focused country. And Russia was doing fine BEFORE the sanctions. Also, I think they have most of their neighbors fearing them, and thus willing to listen to Russia, and you know China is kind of a good nation to be allied with.
