Introduction:

Many of you will know me as n00bslayer_99. outside of meep, my name is Will. I live in Brisbane, AU where I was recently re fostered to. I was born in Denmark, however at the time my mother could not afford to keep me (follow link for full story) http://meepcraft.com/threads/re-fostered.30879/. I enjoy many hobbies; Soccer, Rugby, meep, swimming, athletics, hanging with friends - mostly just all the norms for a 15 year old. I am a B - A student at school, which I thoroughly enjoy. I am taking a shot at helper because it is something I would really like to do, and something I would take high pride in.


Why you should be Helper/Mod ?


Ever since I joined meep, in November last year, I have wanted to be a staff member. At first, I was, as everyone starts off, unknown. I’d say ‘hello’ in chat. no answer. they mustn’t have heard me, I thought. ‘Hello’. yet again, no answer. To this day, almost a year later, I witness the same thing. I do my very best to say hello/hi/how are you/do you need a town to EVERY new player. EVERYTIME I see a ‘welcome to meepcraft [username]’ I send a /msg ‘would you like to join a neat town?’. 9/10 times I get a ‘Yea ’ In return. Just seeing this makes my day. Just seeing the fact that I made someone completely infamous to the server feel good, makes my day. To get off that subject, I have also been trying my very hardest to help the community on all 3 aspects of the server. I am as active as I possibly could on them all.

Teamspeak - I am on whenever I can, socialising with people and helping new players.

Forums - i am on this ALL THE TIME. I treat it like Facebook. however not only do I check for alerts every 10 minutes, I also do my best to suggest new ideas/improvements to the server.

Server - ahhh, my most active aspect. I am on this addictive love of mine from the minute I'm home from school to at least 10PM.


"With great power comes great responsibility". I understand what I am signing up for here. And should this happen, my priorities would be instantly changed. As I have been wanting for so long, my priority would be to help the community rather then playing the game.


Dedication;

Ever since earlier this year, I wanted to be a helper. In the time after that, i dedicated myself to making an impression. I did my very best to mature up, help players where I could, and stay active. I believe I succeeded. A real life case of my dedication would be Navy cadets. I have been in the Navy Cadets for almost 3 years now, and have achieved the rank of Leading Seaman in record time.


Work ethic;

Not long ago, I decided my town (Lotus) needed a boost. It at the time had 25 residents, and a pretty nice spawn, however it had a lot of potential. 5 days later, it was fully equipped with a stunning casino that the community started to compare to ‘q’ and an enchantments store the community compared to grinderpark. On top of that, there were now also 50 residents. A real life experience that helps me in this case, too, would be Navy Cadets. Almost every week we get recruits, and as a Leading Seaman, I’m the one to help them. At our base, I am in fact the only Leading Seaman. this means that I am giving lessons to recruits every week. Another real life thing that refers here, is my job. I work at Coles (For you yankees, Brits and others, Coles is Australias main grocery franchise), sometimes stacking shelves, sometimes manning a counter and sometimes just doing paperwork.

I enjoy my work in all of the 3 aspects above.

Experience;

i’m gonna be honest here, even if it doesn't help my chances of a helper position. I have never really been a staff member before, on any servers. I mean, i was an admin on one friends server with, what 10 people? and co owner on another friends server, with, what 20 people? Very little. I have forgotten three quarters of the commands already, and honestly, on a server with a player base of 15 they are never needed. However while I may not have a lot of experience, I hope to gain some very fast.


Strengths;

Values - I value many, what i believe are important things. I value a good, strong community. I value great staff members, who know what they’re doing, and at the same time, enjoy what they’re doing. <— This is very much what meep already has, I just hope to soften the edges.


Timezone - Yes. this is a huge plus for me. When I am on , it is a rarity to have a helper on. the only staff member who's on a lot at the same time, is Sjoeppappentrap. Clearly Australian timezone needs more helpers, and due to my Timezone, I am on when all the yankees are either sleeping, and the brits are at school/work.


Maturity & Immaturity - I always see immaturity in the weakness section. Immaturity can be an issue when it gets to a certain point, for example sex ref’s, but kept under control, I have found it a good value. I love to be immature in the sense of laughing at good jokes, etc. Ofcourse, I am sometimes mature just to be mature, and am certainly mature when the job requires it of me.


Initiative - This is something I am continuously applauded for. At Coles, I will see a trolley with items on it, and a half stacked shelf. I put down whatever I have in my hands and finish it. This could easily apply to meep, especially in my timezone when I could be the only, or one of the only helpers on and someone files a modreq. If I am in the middle of making something for my town, or talking to a friend, I will instantly leave and pick up the modreq.

Weaknesses:

Grudges - I have been trying my hardest to overcome this. I have recently talked to speedyjake2003, whom I had a grudge against for harassing me, and we are all good now. I will do my out most to have no more grudges on meep.

Temper - Another one I have been working even harder at, is my temper. I have lost it in the past. An example would be when I raged at superbros for not banning someone after a rank scam. I apologised to him shortly after. However, after many hours of Physical recreation (extra curricular activity) it is very, very unlikely I will ever again lose my temper.

Ban history - This is my biggest weakness. We all make mistakes in life, and I have learnt from ever single one of my bans. I have also apologised to every single person directly involved in any of the bans.


Conclusion:

Over all, I would be a valuable asset to the staff team. I have experience as a Leader, from Navy Cadets. I have experience as a hard worker, from Coles. I have in game experience from currently owning 2 towns, with having owned many others before them. Thankyou for taking your time to read this. To start off, your why is a mess, it's vague and it is barely getting to the point of "why". Your work ethic barely represents anything of your work ethic. You're barely experienced with the community because you've been banned for so long that everyone has forgotten about you. You've been back for about 2-3 weeks? and you've been banned for more than that. I'm sure you have more weaknesses than stated, your age is what should be in high school and you're still playing for 4-6 hours? If you hold grudges against people than you are definitely stubborn, if you have an argument with someone don't let it escalate to the point where you hate them.

Overall, I think that if you actually put the time and effort into your application, I think it would be nice. Next time, be more clear on what you're trying to say. Don't type 3-4 sentences for work ethic, your sentences barely have about 10-20 words in them, you use simple/basic words. I think you just need to be more clear and thorough about your points.

I am not going to leave a vote as this is just a tip if you are going to write another application.

You have too many incidences of rank scamming, and other devious behavior. You're not qualified, simply put, and you most likely will never be qualified for staff on this server. Just keep playing it, and enjoying it. But you being recruited is essentially them just asking for problems.

Okay, so the way n00b did it was advertising his app, but it was like "I'm about to apply! Wish me luck!" That's probably the best way to advertise your app, but just don't advertise your app. If you post the link in shout, that's bad. It shows that you're desperate.
