Introduction:

Hello. I'm monkey, obviously, but in real life I'm Alexia, or just Alex. In the little thing we call the real world, I like to draw and be artsy, play both electric and bass guitar, Do Scottish dance, and do Pikiti Tirsia Kali, which is Filipino martial arts. I have two brothers, a 7 year old and a mostly-deaf three year old. Because of the 3 year old's hearing problems we are all learning sign language, and I'll be going to college to be an interpreter for deaf kids.
I've been playing on Meep since August 29, 2013, but I started to be really active within the community in mid-December. I got helper, the first time, on March 19, and was demoted two weeks ago on may 22. I got demoted for, basically, not being professional enough. I was also a bit immature, and I made of bunch of tiny stupid mistakes that led to a few big stupid mistakes. During the last two weeks I have worked on this, and think that I deserve a second chance.

Why you should be Helper?

· Experience

When I got helper the first time, My helpfulness was at a perfect level according to other staff members. I always try my best to help in shout and when someone asks me something in msg. I am experienced in the position now and know that I can resolve modreqs in a thoroughly and in a timely manner. I know and remember all of the hawkeye commands, and the modreq commands, and everything that I need to be a good helper!

· Work Ethic

No matter how hard the issue presents itself to be, or distractions at the time, I always try to do my best. While sometimes my best is NOT always how efficiently a different staff member could resolve the problem, but I'll make sure that the person that asked is happy with his/her answer and has no other questions.

· Dedication

When I was helper, I made sure that as many modreqs were answered as quickly and efficiently as possible, and that anyone asking anything in shout would be answered by someone. I'd try not to go AFK for more then a few minutes at a time, especially when I was busy.

· Involvement

I talk in shout as much as I can, but it's not much. I enjoy talking to players via Teamspeak and skype more, as I enjoy the feel of talking to a real person, in real life, right here, right now. The power of the voice is amazing, and enjoyable.

· Performance

The goal for helpers in 10 modreqs a day. I always tried to get 12-15. on a day when I was tired due to my sleeping issues, or when I was sick, I would do at least 5-10. Helping people, especially the newer players with getting their first town or directing them to a rank seller, is fun in my opinion, and should be easy and a good representation of the community and staff team for the player.



Weaknesses:

Sometimes, even when I know the answer, I don't always explain myself in the manner that makes the most sense. It will make sense to me, but not so much to the person who asked. I try not to make mistakes and re-explain the answer to the said question if needed.

I have a few of those buttons. When someone pushes that button, I'll get a bit upset, but I usually stay calm online, and go AFK for a few minutes to calm down and I'm fine. Normally these button-pushing instances are rare and only happen via TS instances, and in game, no one ever knows.

I can be immature from time to time. I like to have fun and I take it to far sometimes. I understand that this has to be fixed and I'm working on it.

Conclusion:

Honestly, I miss being helper. It's not just yellow chat and a few new perms. It's making the community as a whole happy with a little bit of work. Work I'm willing to do and I hope you see that. The staff chat was amazing and enjoyable. After a few weeks, I got cocky and rude at times, I realize my mistakes, and I won't do it again. Everyone makes mistakes and deserves a second chance. I think you've changed a lot. Plus, everyone makes mistakes. I made a ton as helper and still make them as mod. As long as you can recognize a mistake, there's no harm in making them.

 

The thing I don't approve of about this application is that you applied EXACTLY two weeks after being demoted. It gives off this aura of impatience that I find quite unpleasant. I would say if I knew you didn't count the days to this app, I would +1 it wholeheartedly. However, since you did I'll say +.5 because I think you have learned from your mistakes.

+1 but the only thing I would have liked to have seen where the details of your demotion. It would show maturity if you admit what you did.

 

Well, you want the story, you get the story.
By what Lex has told me, I was argumentative with the staff team. I try not to, but my fighter side gets the best of me.
I did curse in local chat with Epick8 once. Yeah, bad idea.....
made a 69 comment on the forums (was deleted, don't even bother to look for it))
Overall, I was a bit silly and immature. I gave the staff team a bad impression, and I apologize for it.
Also, Lex said that the higher staff did not feel that I was unified within the staff team. I'll try my best to fix it.

 

Owning up to your mistakes can be hard. Trust me, I speak from experience.
Also good, strong app.

I am brand new to this server.. is helper basically like mod..?

 

Mod is a different rank than helper.

It goes like this. This is the ranks of the staff

Helper < Mod < SuperMod < Admin < Owner

There are things that Mod can do and Helper can't, and things that SuperMod can do that Mod can't: I believe the example of this is Bans, Permanent Ban is only able to be done by a SuperMod or higher. To be more detail, please do ask a staff member in this community.

 

Oh ok, so helper is basically mod except with less permissions?

 

Helper - helps people when they need trouble. -- but yea I am not sure how to put it, but I think you got the right idea

You used your status as a Helper in the wrong ways when you were staff. When players asked questions like "Why do you think you should get blah blah blah for free" I saw you reply with "because I'm staff xD" and stuff like that. I saw it happen 3 times, 2 being in games, 1 on the forums.

You were also recently demoted, and from what I understood on TS you were basically told that you were not needed on the staff team and you apparently argue too much. If you get told that you're not needed I don't see why you'd want to work for Meep anymore..
