I honestly don't see a problem with them having rights... I wouldn't mind having a new name for "marriage" for gays, but it's really not that big of a deal.

However... I don't want to be walking down the street with my child , and have Adam and Steve kissing on the sidewalk.

    Just my opinion.

I really could careless if they have rights I mean do what you want as long as they aren't doing something ummm bad/sexual in public. Like if they want to kiss or make out in public let them be xD unless they are again yanno lol. Now I am a christian but I'm not one to hate so they can be gay/lesbian and I really don't care. I know a lot of like really religious Christians are like they shouldn't do that because blah blah blah but again I DON'T CARE! I honestly think they should be able to get married it's there life let them be? Like in what way does it harm you? You can argue well and male and female are suppose to make children gays/lesbians can't now can they....Well with how populated we are then just let them be :p Sorry for the crappy grammar xD Welp there's my opinion :)

While I do not believe gay marriage is right, I do not have a problem with it. I don't support people doing it, but I would never discriminate someone because they are gay. I have a good amount of friends that are.

I think that its ridiculous people dont want gay people to be able to marry or have any rights- they say it will affect the whole society, ruin the economy, the church, etc. Most of their claims are pure bigot bs

Well most people who say that are very religious and that goes against what they believe in. I see where they come from but it doesn't affect them as a person.

true, if gays made a religion and to be in that religion you were gay, then everything would be settled...

I think there's an easy solution here.

    1. Legalize gay marriage on a federal level. Marriage isn't only a religious practice. Marriage is also a legal document.
    2. Allow each church to decide if they want to host gay weddings or not. There's many Christian churches that are accepting of same-sex relationships. The UCC is the best example of one.

The bottom line is: It's entirely unconstitutional not to let them. So just pass the bill already. There are too many over zealous homophobes in Congress, in my opinion. America was meant to be a free country so let them be free, and stop pressing your Bible in their faces.

*sorry if this offends anyone, but I have strong opinions on this subject*

Gay people are people, people have the rights. Therefore Gay people have the same rights as everyone else.

I find no problem with being gay/lesbian/bi. I fully support their rights, and I don't think placing bias against them based off the bible is really fair. Why not just go with basic human decency? I'm not trying to bash any religion or the bible, but I am trying to get my point across. As long as people don't make out in public, I'm fine with it. What's so different about a gay couple kissing each other in public than a straight couple kissing in public?
My ideas are a bit scattered in this, but it's too early here xD

    1. Rights aren't supposed to be voted on.

    2. I've seen too many
Christianity isn't the only religion in America. The bible isn't our governing doctrine.

If this country was founded on the ideals that people would have the freedom to practice their own religion, and that religion allows gay marriage, and such an act is illegal, may this hypocritical country be damned.
