BUG: Dying when i do /home or /fly
STEPS TO REPRODUCE: It happens randomly, So i'm not sure
EVIDENCE: I don't have any screenshots but I shouted about it so people saw what I said xD


I'm not sure if this is a bug but it has happened twice to me now.
I go to my basement in my house where my storage is by doing /home 10
I don't ever change anything down there so i won't spawn in a block or something.. Anyway, Right before I logged off last night I did /home 10 & spawned & instantly died. I quickly re-spawn & did /home 10 again, lived but my stuff was gone. There was no clear lag & it took less then 10 seconds to go back there. So wheres my god pick? Boots? Sword? Whatever else i had.. -.- That has happened to me 2 times now.
Another thing, Today, I was exploring a cave & I turned on /fly (i'm ultimate obviously) and it killed me like /suicide So i lost all my things in the cave then. . . -.-

When the /home 10 thing happened I /shout 'ed it & asked in chat about it. Mrs.Megan said there's a glitch in BETA towns but I'm in alpha towns. You might want to investigate it in alpha also if you have not. Like I said in the title I'm not sure if this is a "bug" or just like a freak glitch & my bad luck.

Anyone have any Idea about this or a solution?

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this bbycakes! I have experienced this once or twice. Sometimes, I just randomly die and there was no cause except spontaneous death. Something I did to resolve my problem was re-installing MineCraft. I don't know why it worked, but it did.

If you are in /fly and you go to a /home in another world, I often die, so I make sure I am out of /fly and that it is disabled before I go to my /home or I /warp anywhere. As for the cave mishap, it could have been an invisible block that was suffocating you if you had lag.

Other than that, I will try to look for more solutions!

 

Thank you boobear! I think i was in /flymode when i did /warp and do my /home thing so that may be my issue! ill try to not fly when i warp now!

 

It is because when you fly a lot, it is almost like you jumping that far. It will do LOADS of fall damage. I'd say Ultimates should have the ability to turn fall damage off. Or they never have fall damage.

 

If you have fly on you dont take fall damage.

 

Unless you change servers while flying.

 

set your home in water, like a one spot of water, thats the only way i can think about fixing that.

 

Say you fly 30 blocks up, if you warp or go to a home you will take the fall damage as if you were still 30 blocks up.

 

From my experience, fall damage is worse. I've been ~5 blocks up and taken half health from turning /fly off.

 

it goes by how long you been in air, thats how minecraft calculates if your falling. Thats why some servers kick you for falling from a high place. Thats why i suggest putting homes in water.

 

Have you experienced any other troubles with the steps of turning off fly when warping?

 

This a an old Ultimate glitch that I can remember being reported since I joined the served. Since I got Ultimate it has happened to me twice. Once I lost a lot of stuff now I try to make sure that I carry as little valuable things as possible when travelling to prevent loss if it happens again as it is totally random.

I generally put my valuable things in an Ender Chest and retrieve it from there when needed (since /chest is also unreliable I only use it for junk) . It is essentially an irritation and unnecessary. But there is no solution known and if you loose your stuff it's your problem. So take any measures you see fit to minimize your potential losses.

I don't wanna be mean or anything but most of the staff and programmers are worrying and spending more time fixing bugs and adding new things in the Beta towns because its a more updated version and not really caring much about the older version .most people are selling towns which are in the alpha town world because everyone's mostly using the more updated version of towns

So basically I would recommend for you to move to the beta towns world instead of waiting for the bug to be fixed in alpha towns.

 

dude its a bug everywhere, also everyone moving to beta because they ruined alpha with the regen thing.

 

It hasn't happened sense thank you abby
