Intro:

Hello MeepCraft, I am LR_Davius, aka Davey Gravy. I’ve been a part of this server since August 3rd, 2012. As many of you know I served as a moderator from February through the reign of crueltygaming, and I was soon banned for “Rebellion.” I thought that my time on the server was done, and I stopped playing Minecraft. However on July 11th, (I think that was the date) I was skyped by Deinen0 and informed that cruetlygaming had been overthrown and a new era of MeepCraft was beginning. I quickly joined the server and found the old server I’ve known and loved. In August, of last year, I had the opportunity for the first time to be a part of the staff team of “The New MeepCraft.” It was an amazing experience and I gained many new friends. Unfortunately this experience was cut short when I was demoted for calling Onis_Luck an “idiot” over the forums. At first I was angry and didn’t care, but it wasn’t long before I realized how much I had lost when I was demoted. I deeply regret my decision and irrational speaking. I have learned a great deal since then, and feel that that experience now helps me to make better decisions. As I’ve become more and more active, my love for the server has been reignited, and I’ve been longing to help the server in any way possible. The best way I feel to help the server is by being a staff member, which compelled me to write this application. I’ll be quickly explaining some of my qualifications, and be showing you why I am capable of being a helper.


Why

As this is the most important part of an application, I’ll be bringing a lot to the table. I’m going to focusing on my qualifications, and showing you why I am fit, and worthy to hold the position of helper.


1. Positive Prior Experience

As I mentioned in my introduction, I was a moderator for some time prior to the reign of cruetlygaming. In this point I’ll be talking about some of my major strengths with examples from my past experience.

- Responsible (No abuse)

I’m not going to spend much time on this, as there isn’t a need to say much. Never in my time as a staff member have I abused my powers for personal gain. This is something I am proud of, and am not planning on ruining this record.

-Diligence

Personally, I am a hard worker. All my life I’ve been a diligent, quick, and effective at any type of work. This has been shown in chores, jobs, and sports. Since you can’t see that, it’s also been shown in my past time as a staff member. When I was a helper, I completed over 1,000 in less than 2 weeks. I’m currently working for an architecture firm, and have learned countless lessons on how to work under authority. I have experience not only on MeepCraft, but in real life.


-Knowledgeable

In my time on this server I’ve mastered almost every towny command and I am confident that any question asked of me regarding commands would be answered correctly. I am also very aware of the staff commands, (hawkeye, ect.)

-Dealing with Troublemakers

Throughout my life I’ve been tested many times, mostly playing sports, and have been tempted to react in a way that would be harmful. This has given me patience in dealing with people I find to be vexatious. I’ve also dealt with people like this on the server. Over the course of my staff tenure, I dealt with hosts of immature, idiotic, annoying, and hateful players. I’ve worked through many situations with such people, and am experienced in dealing with people.


Motivation:

Here I’ll be explaining my personal motivations to be diligent, and honest in my work.

- My Personality

Ever since I can remember, I’ve had an unexplainable delight to see people pleased. This feeling is immensely magnified when something I’ve accomplished has pleased someone. This is the driving force behind my attitude of modreqs, and my love to complete and see them completed efficiently, thoroughly, and effectively. Nothing brings more joy to my face when a client is pleased with a drawing or model I’ve done for them, or in this case, a modreq.

- Server Betterment

As silly as it sounds, I am rather attached to this server. This has been evident throughout my time here, as I have remained a member of the community for close to two years now. This love for the server helps me to try my hardest and assist it in any way possible. One of the greatest ways to do this is through a staff position, which is the reason for my application. I am a devoted player to this server, and will give my all to see it improve, whether it be assisting players by answering their modreqs, to moderating the chat channels and punishing wrongdoers.


Weaknesses:

1. Strongly Opinionated

I showed this during the MeepNetworks time where I often stepped on the toes of the staff members, and was often hostile. For this I apologize, but I believe we are far, far past those days. However I’d like to warn the staff reviewing this that I am very strongly opinionated, and even if you are my authority, I won’t do anything I don’t personally agree with.

Let me first say that I do not think I’d be asked to do something wrong by the higher ranking staff members, or oppose them in all they do. All I am doing is explaining my reasoning behind this issue, and giving my reasoning behind my actions currently, and in the past.

One of my favorite books is a perfect example for this situation. That book is George Orwell’s 1984. The scene I am about to explain can be interpreted various ways, and I am interpreting it in a unique way to best fit this situation. In this book there is a part where the protagonist, Winston, is being tortured by the antagonist O’Brian, a high ranking member of the party, who is asking Winston what two plus two equals. Winston replies saying it equals four. O’Brain (Technically the authority) tells Winston that the answer is five. Even though that is illogical, O’Brian claims that it is right, because the ruling authority insists it is. Winston denied it still, and was tortured. I found myself in a similar situation earlier this year when I was asked by CrueltyGaming not to unban DancingCactus. I saw the concequences of doing so, after Pointifit was demoted for unbanning him, but nonetheless, I did it anyway. I knew CrueltyGaming was my authority, but I did not obey him. I respect and obey my authorities, but if they tell me to do something I feel unjust or wrong, I will not obey. I hope that makes sense.

2. TeamSpeak Activity

My current Teamspeak activity isn’t at its best. I am occasionally online, and when I am, I often sit with my microphone muted. I am trying my best to build up my teamspeak activity, but the way I am situated in real life, it is difficult to find a time where I could use a microphone. I'm a pretty shy person, and if I don't have anything to say I won't. However I am listening, and if any question is asked of me I'd answer. Thankfully this is slowly changing and I am finding more and more times to access TeamSpeak and converse casually.

3. Outspokenness

I have an issue of speaking before I think. It is an issue I’ve had for pretty much forever, and am working my best to try to fix it. I often speak before thinking rationally, and get my foot stuck in my mouth.

Conclusion

While this isn’t my best application I’ve written, I feel that I’ve covered everything I need to, and in order not to waste all of our time, I’ll end it here. Overall, I am responsible, I’ve never been banned for breaking any rules, and I’ve never abused my power, or banned anyone wrongly. If I am accepted, I will not hesitate to begin working diligently to complete any tasks given to me. I am familiar with the rules, Overall, I am not only qualified, but I feel I am a responsible enough to re-obtain a staff position.

 

I don't know you super well and you don't help a lot in /shout. Forums activity is very good, but I never see you in ts.

Now, LR, I've always had a lot of respect for you, even though I haven't had a lot of experience with you.

You are fairly mature, responsible, and friendly. I may not have had many personal experiences with you hut I can tell you are well liked.

You've had a lot of experience, and I don't see a huge reason not to +1 this.
