Thanks to @Silver01 and @SpongeyStar for putting together some good suggestions for our first week with the Sandbox. Two things for this go-around:
Welcome Back, Towny!
Towny has been added to the Sandbox. So, /warp sandbox to do this. Here's some stuff you probably ought to know:
Starting a Town
- Use
/t new <name_that_won't_get_you_banned> to create a new town -- this costs 3k meebles. Maybe dice Spongey or something to get this.
- You can only have a maximum of 10 players. Ever. Unless you make a suggestion that gets accepted 🙂
- Currently, only the Sandbox Overworld is claimable. The End and Nether exist, we swear, but claiming there is disabled for now.
Land
- Every town starts with 10 plots. (Remember, one plot is a 16x16 chunk of blocks). Crucially: adding members does not give you more land. Looking at you, Legend. You can claim a plot on behalf of your town with
/t claim (while you're standing on an unclaimed plot).
- You can get more land: you can buy more bonus blocks using town funds with
/t buy bonus <n>. The first bonus block is 200 meebles, and then +12% for each block after (so, math wizards: 224 meebles for the second, 251 for the third, and so on). You can have a maximum of 50 bonus blocks (so, 60 total). If you don't remember what the price of the next one will be, you can just /t buy.
- Outposts are 5k meebles, with a maximum of two per town. Embassies work as usual.
Money
- So you can always
/t deposit <amount> to put a non-refundable amount into your town. Try not to accidentally put too much cash in there, I am very lazy.
- There are no taxes, and there's no upkeep.
Permissions
- Everyone in your town is a co-mayor so you need to be careful with whomever you invite. Which means that everyone can claim, unclaim, invite, kick, set plot perms, toggle town settings, etc. Choose your friends wisely.
- That being said, only the mayor can delete the town or hand off mayorship.
Nations
Helpful Commands
/t - your town's overview
/t here - where am I?
/towny map - chunk map around you
/towny map hud - minimap, way cooler than /towny map
/t toggle pvp - fight your friends or whatever
/plot set perm - set plot permissions
Wilderness
- Do whatever you want here, as long as you are nowhere near another town. Try to stay like three plots away.
Bundles
Okay, so there's a new way to make money in Meep: Bundles. /warp bundles for this. This is basically gonna be similar to the "Daily Streaks" plugin we used to have in Towns, except without the streaks.
So. There are five NPCs at /warp bundles: a hunter, a farmer, a woodcutter, a fisher, and a miner. They are very greedy and they ask for stuff. The things they ask for rotate every three days. You can fulfill their requests an infinite number of times -- so if you want to guess as to what's coming up and collect for a day in the future instead of focusing your energies on the current day, go for it. That's by design. We can absolutely tweak this system as time goes on. And, the more people that participate, the more data we'll have to analyze and improve the plugin.
Okay, that's it. If you have any questions, find us on Discord or whatever. Or drop a comment here.
