MeepCraft has a few standards by which users need to abide to keep gameplay fair and to promote a welcoming community. Just keep in mind that these rules are up to the exclusive interpretation of the staff team, and we're much too lazy to argue legalese and what-ifs proposed in bad faith.
Global Rules
Respect Your Peers
Players have the right to interact with others in a welcoming environment, so please don't create or contribute to a negative experience for others. Here's a non-exhaustive list of the things that we won't tolerate anywhere on MeepCraft:
- harassment, bullying, etc.; bigotry is strictly prohibited
- false claims about others, or claims without evidence, in an effort to get someone banned
- griefing or trespassing; for example: placing/destroying blocks without permission, creating traps, taking/placing items in any container, killing mobs without permission, etc.
- lagging, crashing, breaching, or otherwise committing any cybercrime against the infrastructure
- charging back a donation
- spam
Cheating and Deception
Everyone deserves a fair gameplay experience. Here's a list of things that we consider "unfair play" -- please don't do them:
- using alternate accounts to gain an advantage ("alt abuse")
- turning on PvP mode in your plots without a sufficient warning.
- combat logging (logging out during PvP before you're about to die)
- ladder camping or spawn camping
- hacked clients or mods (with exceptions, listed below)
- luring, scamming, or other forms of deception
This is an exclusive list of client mods that you are permitted to use. If it's not here, ask a staff member first!
- Optifine / Sodium
- MinecraftCapes
- TabbyChat
- Litematica
- PotionstatusHUD and ArmorstatusHUD - as long as players/entities aren't shown
Real-World Items
MeepCraft does not condone the exchange of items for real world currency. The staff and server won't be held liable for this or any other illicit activities that occur, so don't do it--you won't be refunded if things don't go your way.
Towny
Please don't abuse your town staff permissions to commit crimes. If you join a town's staff team with the intent to grief, steal, etc., you'll be held accountable as a scammer. Also, please remember that town Mayors and Co-Mayors have the same permissions and responsibilities, including for the purposes of these rules.
Town Requirements
Town spawns must have displayed (a) town rules (if applicable) and any consequences for rule violations, and (b) taxes for plots, shops, and embassies. Any changes to town rules need a seven (7) day notice (use /t set board
) and they can't take effect until after those seven (7) days have passed.
Town Kicking
You can remove a person from your town for any of the following reasons:
- Inactivity - players inactive for more than fourteen (14) days can be removed without warning. You can keep any items left behind in this case.
- Rule Breaking - players who have violated a Towny rule can be kicked, but you'll need to give them any items left behind if they request it within three (3) days.
- Other Cases - any player can be kicked from the town with a seven (7) day warning.
Also, keep in mind that all members of a town must be warned seven (7) days in advance before a town is deleted.
Settling, Growing borders
Your town cannot grow to within three (3) plots of another town, or surround a town on more than two (2) sides without permission from the town mayor(s), unless the town mayor(s) has/have been online for thirty (30) or more days. (This rule doesn't apply for unclaimed land within two (2) plots of Towny Spawn.)
Inactive Mayors
If a mayor has not logged in (with the account that owns a town) in a three (3) month time span, any resident of the town may request via modreq that they be deposed. In this event, any co-mayor that has been online within three (3) months is eligible, if willing, to be selected by server staff as the next mayor. If the town has no active co-mayor, than any town staff members that have been online within three (3) months are eligible, if willing, to be selected by server staff as the next town mayor. If the town has no active server staff, then all willing residents of that town that have been online within three (3) months are eligible to be randomly selected by server staff as the next mayor.
Past mayors, once deposed, may only be re-promoted to mayor once they've logged on. Anyone abuse of this will be considered alt abuse.
Discord
- You may not record VC audio or video without the consent of everyone in the VC.
- You may not add bots or use client mods without permission from staff.
- Please use your primary in-game name as your nickname.
Reporting
You can report a player by posting a discussion on the appropriate forum, filing a /modreq
in game, or by using the #mod-req
channel in Discord. You will need screenshots or other proof of rule violations.
Updates and Enforcement
Folks that break rules can be kicked, banned, or muted on any of our platforms. In-game, balances and inventories can be wiped, etc. This list is not exhaustive--staff reserves the right to enforce and interpret these guidelines however they see fit. Staff can update this as necessary with little or no notice, so please keep an eye on this discussion.
