Make a loot envoy appear 2 times a day.
Have the loot envoy appear at Noon and Modnight (whatever you’re preferred time zone), and have a notification sent in global an hour before that includes the coordinates.
The envoy itself should look similar to a cornucopia in a Minecraft hunger games. In fact, it would be pretty sick if anyone who manages to get to the envoy is stuck like 50 blocks away by barriers that disappear when the timer expires, allowing people to race to the envoy and not camp on it before it fills with loot.
Potential rewards (yes; these should be op)
- 1 Shulker box shell
- 10 diamonds (minimum)
- A grinding god sword (smite v, bane v, looting 4, unbreaking 3) DO NOT PUT MENDING ON IT, and make sure books cannot be added on it before implementing.
- Golden Apples
- A stack of Obsidian
- Many stacks of TNT
- 1 Creeper Spawn Egg
- Skulls Reward (maybe in the form of an achievement or repeatable quest that is always taken)
- Unenchanted Diamond Armor
Benefits:
- Will make the game more entertaining
- Will bring people away from their towns
- Allows items to be introduced to the server that are unattainable
Disadvantages:
- Would likely need its own plugin made
- Potential for lag
- Potential to be game breaking if rewards are chosen carelessly
Note:
The rewards must be worthwhile or it’s not even worth considering this suggestion or implementing it. Doing stuff like unenchanted diamond armor (which wasn’t rare) in towny and cactus was pointless and wasn’t worth people going to the envoy.
By having the envoys be twice daily, the rewards should be worth traveling away from your town and risking your loot.
I also think this idea fits nicely into the idea that extreme is supposed to be full of pvp risks and unsafe travel.
