if there were end portals throughout the world, then the end would make a great trading post.
1. it'd probably still be wild, so pvp enabled leaving opportunity for backstabbing
2. the strongholds could be everywhere, so you just go in to the end and no matter where you enter, you're in the same end dimension as everyone else
3. the end exit portal takes you to your bed spawn, so once trading is done, you're right back home.
