I really appreciate someone finally addressing this absolutely atrocious issue. Not like this is relevant whatsoever, but I do believe it applies to the situation. When I was a youngling I would often go on custom Runescape forums... (Most of them have been wiped off the face of the web, sadly.) When I first joined the forum, it was full of life, introductions left and right. But as time went by, the forums were bare... A wasteland of forum games... I messaged an old veteran user, the moment seems so clear... I was listening to a personal stereo in my room and asked him what the forum games were. His typing paused, he didn't even have to check but he immediately told me the forum games consisted of "Count to XXX before XXX".
And to my surprise,
He was right.
Thirty seconds to a minute later, the owner of the forum made an announcement. He said there had been a forum game attack and that we must disembark.
After that everyone was in complete hysteria.
It sounds silly, but witnessing that at a young age truly traumatized me. I've never seen a community of people appear to be completely disheveled before. Ever since then, I've had a grudge against forum games... Specifically counting ones.
