What's Wrong With Meep's Discord And How To Fix It

Making this thread because the discord is frankly run horribly. I've stated these ideas multiple times to have them ignored/deleted in #staff help. All of the changes recommended should be extremely easy.

Although this is not a suggestion I feel the need to bring this up in this post. For context, a while back @Magnoot was banned on Meep's Discord but recently appealed (link). His appeal was denied by @CluelessKlutz as seen below.

After discussing this as a staff team, we have decided to deny this appeal due to being to having multiple recent issues in-game which warranted mutes and temporary bans. To quote from a post another user attempted to post here, "Seems like you know this stuff is wrong, but you just try to push the line as much as you can without getting banned for it. This isn't a past-few-weeks thing, either, you've been doing it for as long as I can remember. Just a couple days ago, you were throwing insults at someone you didn't like, and it didn't even take you very much arguing to progress to that stage. Your behavior is not conducive to anyone's idea of a good community.

The two sentences that I've bolded are what stuck out to me most

"Multiple recent issues in-game which warranted mutes and temporary bans"
Staff has constantly told players that what happens on Discord and in-game are 100% separate and in-game actions will not be taken into account for Discord related stuff and vice versa. If Mag isn't allowed back because of something in-game then that's clearly against what you've said clue.
"Your behavior is not conducive to anyone's idea of a good community."
Now I understand why you can argue this. However, you let former players constantly bash the server and do next to nothing. It took months to mute a couple of players who probably should have been muted in a matter of days. Keep in mind those same people were muted as opposed to mag whos banned. It's really hard to argue that Mag is more detrimental to the server than those players.

Regardless I'm not here just to argue for mag being unbanned lol.

Staff Constantly Deleting Messages that do not need to be deleted.
Pretty self-explanatory staff deleted waaaaayyy too many messages, just chill out. For example in #town-recruitment nuker posted this

And I harmlessly commented that the MGA was better, that message got deleted. One may argue that it was off-topic however these messages (posted right after nukers) should be deleted too.

This is one of many examples and I'm sure that many can agree on this one.

#Staff-Help is useless.
Every time I make a suggestion/report someone ect my message is always deleted without any feedback or anything from staff.

Slow mode in #town-recruitment and #media
It is annoying just get rid of it.

Discord Events
It is a cool way to keep users engaged can go into more detail is needed, I have a couple of ideas.
Having to be approved by staff to post images.
I can see why this is there but it's like y tho lol. it's annoying.

Events in-game do not influence bans occurring on Discord, absolutely, however we absolutely consider all aspects of the server when we're looking at unbans. This is why we often are more willing to unban someone on forums or Discord before in-game assuming they're banned from all three because it gives us a more controlled way to get a feeling for how they act before allowing them in-game. In magnoot's case, he was banned for inappropriate content posted inside the Discord. Why should we as a staff team think he has improved or should be allowed back if he is constantly being muted or tempbanned in-game for literally the exact same reason??

I'm currently looking into this, though I believe quite a few of the messages which might have been needlessly deleted were done by the automoderator.

#Staff-Help is useless.

As I told you previously, I found out the Automoderator was deleting messages inside staff help, and this has been disabled.

Under consideration, will probably do more once the revamp launches.

This was done to counteract users posting inappropriate images. With this system implemented, we create a whitelist of users who can post instead of banning people after they've posted things.

That's fair, I appreciate the expanation

I'm very familiar with Dyno's automod I am certain that a majority of messages are not deleted by it (you can always check the server audit logs to see who deleted something)

As I told you previously, I found out the Automoderator was deleting messages inside staff help, and this has been disabled.

The situation you are referring to only occurred because i dropped the f-bomb lmao, There's been multiple times where my messages have been checked off by a mod then deleted.

The discord has 600-800 members meanwhile the server has around 10, would be helpful to try to get some of those users onto meep.

Outsider perspective here, why would a player be unmuted on DC if he's been in-game doing more or less the exact thing he was muted for? I've seen his antics. They're just unfunny and inappropriate. His appeal was mostly cookie-cutter "I'm sorry and I won't do it again," which is fine if you're a first-time offender or maybe even after that, but when he's in-game doing the same thing months later? He is not going to be remotely different on Discord.
Moreover, consistency is nice, but those players are likely less active than him (he's on literally every day making inappropriate references, IIRC), and every toxic player muted/banned is good to me! If even one gets punished, that's better than none, eh? If a police force fails to arrest one person for a crime but they have a repeat offender, should they just let the latter go in the name of consistency?

I understand and completely agree, I just misinterpreted what clue was saying I thought he was basically saying "Yea, were not letting you back because of what happened earlier ingame"
