So I'm minding my own buisness, having a nice time, playing some DST with my buds, and then my PC crashed. The problem is a "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" error, which seems to arise from "cmusbdac.sys" a driver used by my blue snowball to speak to the PC. This seems to happen every time I launch or play some game whilst using my microphone (oddly, this doesn't occur when the microphone is plugged in, just when I'm talking on discord)
There seems to be a lot of solutions out there. Reinstall/update the driver, download some third party driver called ASIO4ALL, or using a system restore point seems to be the most popular solutions.
I tried taking a look in the device manager but I can't find the "C-Media USB Device Audio Class Driver" anywhere. Anyone got any tips or fixes?
