My suggestion was to upgrade to an SSD as soon as possible. My suggestion about drive size was that the 1TB drive was likely overkill, that doesn’t necessarily mean that for this persons individual use that’s the case but it’s important to evaluate your reason for choosing that option over a smaller more efficient storage option. I’m not trying to “sound smart” i’m simply making a suggestion based on my experience with computers and the people that I have dealt with that use them. It’s a suggestion to upgrade that part as it becomes more realistic to do so. I’m not saying that you’re entirely wrong i’m saying that the benefits of an SSD far outweigh the benefits of an HDD for most people. Take that as you wish.
If you take a look at my post history I tend to offer advice for computer related things here on the Meep forums because that’s what I have been working with in my day to day life for a very long time now. Trying to “show how smart you are” by offering some advice is typically the point of offering a suggestion to someone looking for advice. It’s pretty simple conversation. If the poster decides not to upgrade to an SSD that’s great that is his or her choice to make. Now they have an educated opinion of what that means including both the pros and cons of doing that. If you would like to have an educated discussion about the benefits of an SSD vs HDD without throwing around insults feel free to message me since this is cloging up the thread for no reason at this point.

Fair enough. I was just advocating the fact that your suggestion and the following reasoning seemed rather unfitting to the situation OP is in. In the end it's up to them to decide, as you said. Not like the OP was interested in taking any suggestion anyways.
Also, excuse my remark about you trying to sound smart, but pulling out a nix swap instead of the conventional virtual memory (which I assume is what is meant here) seemed to me like it being the case.
Don't get me wrong, I know you are a factor of ... many smarter than me in IT related matters and meant well, but come on, I was just trying to be realistic here with the case at hand.
I wouldn't worry too much about clogging the thread, the topic has seemingly been closed. And thanks for conversation invitation, I'd have to pass since I don't want my digital butt kicked :) No hard feelings.
