This is a good suggestion, and has been suggested in different forms multiple times for good reason, because generally we should nerf voting and make jobs more profitable.
Vote crates should have a bigger variety of items and lower chances for money and vote tools/armor. The cost and buying of god tools has dropped significantly as more players get vote shovels, axes, and picks. This especially is a shame considering this used to be one of the most active markets on Meep.
Jobs need to reclaim their significance as the main way money is generated. Jobs encourage players to play longer, as they give people something to do, resources to progress in the game, and materials to sell. However, if god items and about 20k are obtainable daily by voting, doing jobs becomes obsolete. The fun is drained from towny when you don't have a purpose, so the big goals should require a bit of game-play. Therefore, if you can get over 200k, full god items, and a town within a month, the game of towny has lost its value.
(As this relates, town prices are way too low, go +1 this suggestion now)
In general, the reward for doing jobs needs to be increased and for voting lowered. Voting should supplement jobs, not overtake them.
