Raise Parkour Prizes

When the server first reset, the parkour prizes made more sense because the amount of money in the economy was a lot less than now.

Now that players have large sums of money (because of voting) it makes sense that the parkour prizes are raised so that more players will want to do parkour again.

Because parkour used to be a sustainable income of money, and that has been lost. I don’t think raising prizes would make less people play towns, and it would give players another way to make money again.

Players can play where they want, but the rewards for completing a parkour course helps you in towny. So wouldn’t eventually the player realize they should try towny?

Anyhow, I’m a +1 for the suggestion, but prices need to be changed accordingly

If players are given the option between voting and parkour, and voting generally gives more money, players will choose voting. That’s unfortunate, because players do practically nothing to get that money.

This got me thinking, would it be feasible to implement an equation which calculates the value increase (%) of items from their orginial value (based on their value on vShop) and emulates that into a calculated mean average percentage increase to use as a rate of increase for prizes in utilities outside of towny? Not just parkour, but say Boomo for instance. It's just a thought, but it would be quite a cool little plugin. I might have to write some pseudo code for this later...

Players should play parkour because they
love to do parkour. Shouldn’t always be for the money. Meebles can be made in many ways. Voting helps the server, parkour is for fun.

But you should make parkour worth it to the people that don't necessarily look at parkour as just a side task. its a game, it should be fun. Part of making it fun is A. Drawing more players to do it and B. making it worth it enough that players can do something with the prize, even if its not a lot.

Why limit the ways a player can make money sucessfully if parkour was a viable way in the past?

It doesn’t matter whether we’re towns focused or not towns focused, by leaving parkour to rot we’re loosing another aspect of the server. A lot of players won’t parkour just for the fun it; they want something out of it. I don’t understand why we would leave something the way it is if players can get more out of something else for doing little to nothing.

My comment was not about limiting the players ways of making money. It was more of a reply to
I agree that parkour prizes should be looked at, we have a parkour team and I will direct this to them.
There are a few things that will be looked at, as in this accepted suggestion Reintroduce checkpoint meeble rewards in parkour

Easier parkours for less skilled players would also help people make money.

+1 and I have to disagree with the people who are back talking this suggestion, because the game needs more positive incentives!!!

The current prizes do not limit anyone, heck completing a single course gives you enough money for at least a few weeks plottax. Make parkour more appealing by having interesting updates, not making people's pockets deeper.

I agree with @alex77034 that there needs to be an increase. I have little skill in parkour and find that I have no reason to learn to do parkour because the loss of time gives much less meebles then I could earn in the same time. Increasing the parkour reward or doing something else to support low-skill players would boost the number of parkour players on the server.

Of course, adding a prize back at the checkpoints could already be the solution to this problem.

Pretty simple suggestion, and there should be an increase. It's just nice to get a fitting reward after completing a parkour course.

I think voting nerf and fixing farming job are solutions which benefit the less skilled.

-1, approximately 10 players are skilled enough to even complete our parkour. It's a huge, unfair advantage (like huge farms) that doesn't lately benefit the server. If voting was needed and farming fixed, these prizes would be more than sufficient.

Don't fix what isn't broken.

Oh for sure we need to broaden the spectrum of difficulty. All our current courses are medium difficulty, or are length not skill based. We really need one harder course and 1-2 easier courses. An older, less relavent course would probably need to be retired for all that (probably flower or balloon imo)

But of course staff don't need to waste time ATm working on parkour when farming and voting have the economy in a choke hold
