Tbh it’s probably hosted off a pc in fuzzlrs or klutchs house and is multiple PCs hooked together one for ram speed another for cpu another for storage and one for actual server harddrive then a pc elsewhere which has meepcrafts backups on it

anyone who knows better correct me, but I'm almost certain that the average server is run via an always-running java program (probably minecraft-server-1.12.1.exe or similarly named executable file) which is the console, then the actual hosting is done from a physical server who's services you rent for monthly use. Meep isn't average though, running I think 8 worlds at once (Wild, Towny, Spawn, KitPvp, Halo, Boomo, Skyblock, and Creative) which you switch between (which is why warping between worlds creates an unholy amount of lag)
@bloodyghost would know better, he runs a private server every now and again.
