In my opinion, the new structures available aren't worth resetting the entire wild world for, since that would begin to inject a lot of money into the economy (eg. from dragon eggs, elytras, gold from mesas, etc.). The lack of some of the more recently implemented items can be fixed by simply adding an official server shop accommodating these new features (or revising the prices of pre-existing shops to a more reasonable price). "It's been a while since a previous reset" is an invalid reason because the need for a reset varies based on the current situation of the server or economy, not necessarily time. Otherwise, resetting the wild is more trouble than it's worth.
Additionally, another major reason why people support a reset is that they believe finding common resources (eg. ores, structure loot, etc.) is becoming difficult. However, as some of you probably know firsthand, there are still plenty of caves and regions left unexplored, allowing someone to get just as many resources if they actually try. Don't assume wild to be fully drained of resources just because a few caves have torches in them or there are player-placed blocks around the world.
