OH BABY I LOVE RANTING ABOUT THIS!!!!!
Ok
So the first prospect you should look at is memory. If you want to play a lot of video games and download mods, games, ETC, You need to have around 500 GB For gaming. 1 TB (1000 terabytes) are for the people who has like 3 monitors and a big computer runner (forgot the name.) You can buy more in the Microsoft store i believe, but that can be around 200$ for 1tb and maybe 100$ for 500.
The second prospect is proabally the graphics. If you want to play games like Skyrim or Fallout 4, you dont really need a beefy computer. (Unless you have like 1 million mods) You can have even 4gb RAM for singleplayer games like the ones i just listed. SO make sure you have at least 4gb ram for single player. The graphic card does not to be huge, but i recommend bigger than 1536 mb. (i have a mac so rip me if im wrong.)
The third one is a little complicated, as it is about multiplayer. This is where the GBRAM comes in. Not sure why but it does. I recommend around 6GB RAM to 8GB RAM for multiplayer. It costs more though sadly. But for games like minecraft or league of legends, you only need like 4 xD. But for black desert online is a different story. I recommend 8GB for games like that.
Fourth is pretty simple. Windows. A Mac (Apple) is one of the worst computers out there as far as compatibility. SO get a windows laptop like Dell or Acer. NEVER EVER EVER GET A LENEVO!!!! Trust me.
ANyway i know this is a really late response but there ya go if you still wonder!

This is terrible advice, I really hope it is a shartpost.
-The average PC has a 1tb drive these days (1000 gigabytes). You cannot buy more memory online. It is a physical item that is installed into a computer.
-VRAM, as you say, is not the only way one judges performance of a GPU. There are series from NVDIA (GTX, ranging from the 1050-1080ti) and AMD (ranging from the 550 - the 580 to Vega). VRAM is not the only measure of how to run games. If you want to run any modern game @1080p 60FPS, all you need is about 2-4gb of VRAM, and one of the current gen GPUs.
-Not sure what you mean by "GBRAM". Did you mean plain old RAM? If so, 8gb is the standard for today, If you want anything better than 1080p 60FPS, get 16gb.
-Next is OS. Windows vs. MacOS. MacOS can't run 90% of games, so that is a pretty obvious choice to make.
-Brand doesn't usually matter, but whatever one does, don't get an Alienware. They're overpriced pieces of trash. Lenovo has no issues, Lenovo makes great laptops such as those included in the Thinkpad series.
And keep in mind, if you buy a "gamery" laptop, it will run hot and have a batter life of less than two hours.
Please never give advice on a topic you are not sure of again.
(And if you need proof to know that I am well versed in PC's and their specifications, I've built over 15 computers with my bare hands)
