Staff Team's Diversion Tactic

I think I caught up on a trope almost every member of Meepcraft's staff team participates in. Whenever a conversation on shout reaches an inappropriate turn, theres always that one staff member, almost always a female, that says "Alright guys, enough of that... WHATS YOUR GUYS' FAVORITE ICECREAM FLAVOR xDDDD!!!" This form of subject changes is almost like a joke, it never works and has even reached a joke level between my friends and I.

An example is this one, done by Courtneyyyy. Courtneyyy is a phenomenal admin, but I just find it so funny that some staff members actually think this works

Does this method of coaxing people to act better actually work? Last time I was on, Klutch's threat of "next person to talk about this gets banned" always makes them shut up before this does.

I know MANY staff members that do this, not just female and it actually does work sometimes. Staff members jobs are not to get everyone banned. Do you think they like banning people left and right? When the entire global chat box is filled with bad conversation they have to try and change it. Not sure why this was even made.

I remember that being used in my 2014ish days, back when 150ish people was the norm. One example, some one was talking about drinks, and a staff member said "bacon is awesome" and it stopped.

That doesn't make sense. As someone who has started more flame wars than 99% of the server, KlutchDecal's ban threat usually gets the thing done without a single ban. Trying to get people to talk about how cute puppies are doesn't stop them from arguing about something they're most likely passionate about.

I think that's because the argument wasn't rooted enough and was just intended to be a comment on shout. If people were passionately arguing about their favorite drink, that would has not worked.

I think that's because the argument wasn't rooted enough and was just intended to be a comment on shout. If people were passionately arguing about their favorite drink, that would has not worked.
And threatening a ban works 100% of the time, lol

I liked it when onis just kicked people when they misbehaved, and then banned them if they did it again

If people are talking about stupid things or arguing, good job to staff for trying to change the subject.

As for threatening a ban, depending on whats happening, thats also good.

1) say "Insert Stupid Topic Here" -> Forums - Works 70% of the time, but may cause spam saying Forums->Politics
2) say "Insert Rhyme Here" Llama - Works 70% of the time, but will be followed by a bunch of useless llamas.
3) say You are a "Insert Adjective Here" egg" or something related with egg - Works 50% of the time
4) threatening to ban (only for admins) - Works 100% of the time but idiots will keep on going and get banned, then sue Klutch
