Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Opinions?

Last night I played through the beta campaign co op with 2 other friends. Me personally going into I didn't think I was going to like the game, believing it was going to be more like Rainbow, due to the modern appeal of the style of game with other FPS like COD and Battlefield. However it played more like Splintercell a game I LOVED especially with its co op campaigns. My only complaints I really had of the game from playing it was the vehicle mechanics. The cars were either too slow for the model, or went way to fast for it to be practical for the rough roads, they have weird physics when tumbling down the hills and such too. Also I don't like the EA style of flying, it just feels gross on a controller. Overall an interesting storyline, entertaining dialogue, an interesting campaign idea and gameplay style, and also loads of options on how you go through with a mission.

So that's what I think. Anyone else who's played it what's your opinion? You think buying it will be worth it? This thread is basically for me to see if anyone else noticed major flaws or if they won't be buying it for what reasons.

Vehicles are literally the worst mechanics of any game ive played. Even IOS games have better vehicle handling. ALL physics go out the window and its almost embarrassing compared to the rest of the game. Aside of that Ive had a few disconnecting issues and a few "stuck" areas, alongside the enemies auto aim the npcs have through and around walls. I did see a huge difference in bugs from the closed beta to the open, but still.

Normally I wouldn't care to much but they had so much time to develop this game. Its still a good game and look forward to release but I certainly wont be purchasing DLC or any "Editions" early.

Surely you didn't just call the story interesting. In fact, it's one of the worst ones I've played in a long time. For anyone who hasn't played the story is basically
Short cutscene with really bad voice acting -> Go kill these people/retrieve this item -> repeat.

As klutch said the physics and driving mechanics of this game are less than laughable... At best

Literally the only good aspect of this game is the gunplay. All other on-foot mechanics are also worthless (especially the soft cover... ugh)

But that's just my opinion, and I guess we do have different tastes as I am a huge fan of r6s. Have you tried out For Honor? I preordered and am still in love, putting in tons of hours a day.

Vehicles handle like trash and the car you choose has very little differences then looks. The stealth is kinda good but once you get caught there's no escaping without leaving the base. If the game is anything like the beta its gonna be real short.I complete everything there is to do in 2 days. I'm trying the beta on ps4 and the graphics on that are astoundingly bad. I'm talking 480p ground textures. Just cause 2 on console has better graphics. However the free roam is great fun especially with friends. I cannot stress enough to do it with friends. We will spend hours chasing each other around and seeing who can top one another's stupid ideas. So if you looking for solid and long lasting story or a great new shooter ghost recon probably isn't it. But if you're looking for a fun free roam game this is perfect and even better with friends.

I feel like this game would only be enjoyable with friends. I haven't played it myself, but I watched a couple videos with people playing.

I can say by watching the videos on yt, I can see the vehicle controls appear to be bad, I haven't seen anyone jump with a vehicle, and it's open world for the sake of it wanting to be an open world game.

Are we talking about that once you are spotted, you have to leave the base and walk out for it to reset? Because if so, that'd honestly probably make it a lot more challenging / more fun for us who love to stealth it perfectly. It'd make sense in a way as well. I mean, it's pretty unrealistic for enemies to stop searching for you because you lost their sight for a minute or so.

(God, I hate to say "realistic" when it comes to video games, but I hope you know what I mean when I say that)

But, keep in mind that this is a Ubisoft game, and I do not like the way they handle their games. I am definitely going to wait and see how this goes for awhile. Now does that mean its a bad game? I can't say for sure, because I want to try the game out myself before having an opinion. I will most likely get this when it's on a sale, like a bigger sale than the average 15% off. I'm talking 40% - 50% off (which might be awhile unfortunately)
