Introduction: Hello, my name is Dan but I am known throughout the community by Kazarkas. I am 23 years of age and I am currently in my third year of Pharmacy School. First off, writing is certainly not my strong suite so please excuse any 8th grade level grammatical mistakes. I will not tell you a life story because no one really wants to hear it, so I will get into the sections of the application that are relevant to servicing the server and its community.
Why should you be Helper? I believe I posses the qualities to be an exceptional helper and much more if I am given the opportunity. That being said, let's get into my experience on this server, my personal work ethic, and some other traits that I believe would make me an excellent staff member.
Experience: Since I joined this server I had the desire to become a staff member. I think I eventually applied for moderator in 2012 and quickly climbed the ranks within the staff team. I became known as the Xray finder/Duper finder and would routinely catch players using such exploits before all these fancy plug-ins were given to staff to accomplish such tasks. I will admit prior to my tenure on Meepcraft I routinely xrayed and used exploits. Simply put, I know the mind of a cheater and can identify them with ease. All that aside, I eventually assumed the rank of "PRR" which was the highest rank assigned to a staff member after the admin tag was taken away. As PRR it was my duty to manage the staff team that consisted of around 40 players at a time when the server consistently had over 400 people online. My duties also included handling donations as a tech intentionally broke our automated system of upgrading players when purchasing ranks. Simply put, I think I have sufficient experience as former staff that qualifies me for this position.
Work Ethic: In addition to excellent experience as staff on the server, I have a strong work ethic. No one gets through a doctoral program with a horrible work ethic and I am currently on my last semester of course work before going on clinical rotations for a year. I understand what it means to get a job done and do it professionally. I am forced to work in an environment in which you are dealing with very upset and sick people, and it is imperative that I maintain respectful and dedicated to excellent service despite a negative attitude on the other end.
Dedication: I would say I am one of the more dedicated members of this community. I joined back in February 2012 after the server went public and haven't looked back since. Sure, Meepcraft has had its ups and downs with different partners but I have always stuck around. I have somewhat of an emotional connection with this server as I have seen it go from a server hosted on Fuzzlr's personal computer to one of the largest towny servers eclipsing the 1000 player mark. Meepcraft is really the only server I have ever dedicated myself to and I wish to continue that as I see the server moving in the right direction.
Involvement: I have always been involved in this community to some extent. I am extremely active on the forums and active in game when I can be given my course load (19 credits of pharmacy courses). I am an intelligent person and I am quite confident I can balance my course load with server responsibilities.
Performance: As stated above I have been former staff numerous times and I have held ranks above the level of helper. Most people that have worked with me on the staff team would agree I was a good staff member. I am perfectly capable of carrying out the duties of a helper.
What are your weaknesses? I can personally say that I do have some weaknesses when it comes to being staff. We can all agree that no one in this world is perfect so I am indeed inherently flawed.
I have acquired the reputation as a "troll" during my tenure on the server given my sarcastic responses to some but as staff I understand you must give up the title of a troll and represent the server in a professional manner.
I have had my differences with a couple players, especially people that are known as "psuedocorp" due to their inflated egos but I can put my personal vendettas aside and treat these players respectfully in game if I were to assume the title of helper.
I am also a bit rough around the edges when it comes to Minecraft but I am a quick learner. After learning about the reset I came back and I wouldn't say commands are a big problem for me anymore. I am well acquainted with towny commands etc.
