So then why don't we use the last back up?

because there is none. My point is that backups are so that you lose only 2 weeks work instead of 2 years' work. But we didn't make a backup, so we've lost everything.
That's why I'm saying we need to make a backup in the new meepcraft, so this doesn't happen again.
Sometimes the most trustworthy-looking people can be ridiculously malicious. There's already a great vetting process in place, but unfortunately it can't filter out all of the bad applicants.
