Hello Meepcraft.
I really have no starting point so I may just jump right in.
A few days ago, our security was breached and we lost valuable information relating to the server. The entire database which keeps all the information about players was deleted. An (Unmamed) developers SSH key was found to have deleted them. After discussing the events with the developer, they claim it was not them that deleted the files, meaning it is a lie, or someone gained access to their information. Regardless of who it was, I have the displeasure of telling you that because of someones actions, we have to completely reset Meep.
With this news being as heart breaking as it is, we are going to need everyone to pull together. I know its not how we wanted to start 2017, but we are left no choice. We are taking this unfortunate circumstance to redo everything YOUR way. You have all asked us to go back to being EULA compliant, focus on towny, and re-balance the economy. With the re-opening of Meep, The long awaited jobs plugin will be released along with Mcmmo, and multiple updates to plugins we were afraid to touch before. This mean many bugs will no longer be an issue.
Along with these updates, The staff team is being redone as well. Many of the rules will be made clearer, many punishments will be lessened, and many of the ways we do things are being revamped. I want to meet with as many of you as possible to go over suggestions for community-staff relations. I may do another stream to talk to all of you more personally and get the ideas in the correct order.
Its easy to focus on the bad but I urge you all to look towards the future. We love you all.
All forms of negativity, discouragement, and toxicity will be removed from this thread.

Ranks are the only thing that you get to keep, since they don't depend on data from the actual server.

Tl;Dr, Server was hacked, towns and eco are going to be made into one eco with new plugins like jobs and McMmo. We are keeping ranks, worlds are available for download, and we were hacked by an unnamed tech. This is not related to the blacklist, and staff are working to fix things.

I may not have been the most helpful, nor do I plan on having the activity I had years ago, but I will hop on often and am available if you guys need help.

I don't know what to say. After playing on this server for 4 years. Building a town for 4 years and for it all to just be 'deleted' is really frustrating. Most people will say ''It's just a town, it's just a build, build it again.'' Most buildings were one of a kind creations that took 5-12hours usually to complete. Some take a total of 40-100hours to complete. And there's not just one of them, there's dozens. And for them all to just be ''deleted'' like this is sad. I look forward to the future of the server, but with something like this happening is heart breaking. I lost a piece of me once I saw this thread. I don't think I can ever get it back.

He's been wanting to delete alpha and beta for months now. And now out of no where, literally out of now where for no reason the server ''deletes itself''. So instead of trying to restore meep to how it was, we're just going to restart.

During Klutches' Live Streams and in game remarks, he's constantly been remarking about how he wants to delete Alpha and Beta. Now don't get me wrong this idea if very vague. It can mean a many different things. But when the server mysteriously ''delete's itself from a person we're not going to name'' on top of the Black list thing. Its getting to the point where these things are happening for a reason. There are connections to these events.

Are you joking? He's right, it isn't professional to release the name of who deleted our files. If you want to start wild conspiracy theories against the server that you "love so much" then go ahead, but Klutch lost just as much, if not more, than most players.

Wow, I had barley anything on gamma, etc. I find it sad even though I had barley anything. Sorry to the people who had towns, millions of meebles. I think meepcraft will be getting a lot more players now, just because everyone will start off even.

Ye, I think everything will turn out alright though. I'm very happy now that I didn't switch to gamma and stayed in Beta. I didn't waste 5 months on the whole starting again thing for it to turn out to be useless and instead spent them with my wonderful beta town. I never thought that when legacy would go it would go alongside gamma. We'll miss all of that, but hopefully this restart will make us only stronger.

I've recreated towns many times, each time better than the last. Sure it's a bummer to create a town from scratch, but this is your opportunity to do something different if you choose to. Learn from past experiences and different build styles to develop a new, better style. I wish you the best of luck.
