Towny uptime

Okay, this is just ridiculous at this point.

I am not on that often during EU/Australia peak time, but when I am, towny is always down.

I mean, come on. When it happened the first time I joked around that it is a 'Europe money saving mode', but I am at a point I am starting to believe my own joke.

There was no official message about this and I wouldn't have made a thread about the issue if it wasn't this common. Every day (or every other), towny is down for several hours (8 hours is a standard).

I would understand if you needed towny down for maintenance, but atleast make an official statement about it. There are people who would really love to play towny at these akward times, even if you don't think so.

We are speaking about 8am - 6pm GMT +2.

Agree, I think 5 out of the past 7 days I've tried going on in the afternoon, towny has been down.

I agree that this level of server downtime is very detrimental to the server. Maintenance or not, being down for 8 hours at a time sends a simple message to both the current community and the incoming playerbase that either someone doesn't care enough to manage things properly, or theyre not skilled enough to keep the servers running, and when people see a message like that they turn away and go to other, more reliable servers. Im not saying that towns don't go down and machines don't break, but just when players see this, it doesn't give them a big reason to stick around.

We have been looking into the problem and considering switching the machine for those servers.

Also be aware meep goes down at 2am for maintenance as well if this isn't what you're talking about
