Disclaimer: I do know that /dis is unavailable at the moment. The issue/suggestion probably won't be resolved/implemented with the return of /dis. Also I am using Klutz's suggestion format.
If you try to access any type of container (or interact with an object) with a note in your hand, it will both consume the note and open up the container for you.
Issue
The issue is really trivial here. It's a common mistake to hold a note, you just recently received, in your hand while trying to deposit it into a chest. You will end up using the note, which is not the wanted outcome.
Modification
I imagine, that it shouldn't be a hard thing to make right clicking a container with a note in your hand prioritize the opening-the-container part, not so much the consuming-the-note part.
