A wipe is the best way to kill the server outright. It's not going to happen unless fuzzlr stops paying the server hosting bills.
The server has always been made up of donors, as most players have been here for a while, and they've donated or bought ranks with meebles somewhere along the way. Citizens tend to be new players with no built connections, who are still learning the ropes of the economy and figuring out ways to make money. Therefore, citizens have a hard time making money because they are still in the process of building connections, shops, towns, mining resources, playing mini games, ect. They do not have as much money as ranked players because in a minecraft economy, it's always harder to make your first million than your second, third, fourth, and so on. For these reasons, there has been little to no change with the distribution of meebles because donor perks simply aren't the bulk of the "issue" here. If you want citizens to have an easier Time making money, set up farms and shop plots to let them have connections as soon as they join the server. Otherwise, they're going to have to work for their first 100k, just like the rest of us.

None of the new players have the patience to find out how to do anything of the above, unless already know how to use towny, shop signs, how to warp to places which, surprise, most of them don't. Many of them don't even know how to shout, so they say things in local, get confused as to why no one is responding, and leave. And Minigames. Who wants to join a game they don't even know how to play and continuously get killed by that one donor who has been playing forever and has already mastered the game? Players simply don't want to learn something new, especially if they're from the younger groups and they're on a server they may or may not want to stay on. This is why Meep also has a lot of teen and adult players. They're the only ones to seem to be able to figure it out on their own. The younger bunch wants to be able to jump into a server and start winning games or making lots of currency. Minecraft is full of kids, and they don't seem to be interested in our server, mainly because they cant start getting good items or whatever right off the bat. Don't worry, I was a kid too. I joined meep a long time ago and had no idea how to get out of the tutorial, and none of my friends did either. That was because we were kids and didn't really feel like reading any signs, and just started running around. Then I went back on one day and decided to read the sign right in front of my face that said "follow the snow to start playing" or something like that. It took way too long for me to figure out how to even get to the server, even though there was a sign right in front of my face. I walked past all the signs that told you how to play, and then i was finally in the spawn. Then, I started to figure out everything on my own until I found out how to join a town. There I met the nice mayor who taught me how to use everything in towny, and vshop. He was the nicest citizen I've met to date, and he probably had to learn all of that stuff on his own (he was older than me). My example of me shows just how little patience people have these days. Nobody wants to spend hours reading how to play a server when they can just hop onto a different one and jump right in with ease.

Think about it, I recently logged on and the player list is pretty much 99% ranked people. This tells me that citizens aren't finding anything to do here, and therefore are not staying because, what reason do they have to stay? The economy is overrun by these ranked people, they can't find any ways to make money, the minigames are always dead, and they don't want to spend time learning how to make money and get a town. Humans these days have incredibly low attention spans, meaning they want things to happen now. Citizens want money now. They want to have a town now. Ranked people get this privilege because chances are, they have been here for awhile and have learned how to get butt loads of cash incredibly quickly. This is why minigame servers have taken over at this point. They have things happening here and now, and everyone gets a fair chance at winning the games and getting upgrades because of the EULA. The whole purpose of the EULA was to make things equal for everyone. Meepcraft has problems with it because the sole purpose of the meepcraft ranks were to use your advantages to make more money and become rich. Even though every single advantage has been removed for ranked players now, that hasn't seemed to help at all. Citizens haven't been making millions like the ranked people, have they? This is why they don't stay. The economy is overridden by donors who have used their advantages in the past, and therefore have tons of money already. At this point the only thing I can think of is some sort of wipe, whether it be items, money, or some towny world. This way everyone will truly have a fresh start and it new players might actually have a chance at getting rich and powerful. I know what you're thinking, a wipe wont help anyone and it will make everyone quit. Don't get me wrong, I completely agree with that, but at this point it's probably the only option left if we want a chance at getting Meepcraft at its previous statuses. If there's a wipe, lots of donors might quit, making space for new players. Again, I know this sounds terrible, but I can't really think of anything else for us to do. The millions of meebles individuals owned will be gone and everyone will have the same chance at getting the same items and the EULA will be working as it was supposed to be. Right now, nothing is equal. New players have almost no chance at getting rich with these donor kids who have taken all the money from the system. What we need is a little more equity.

Yes, I support a wipe of some sort, but not a complete reset;
No, I do not want to use a balance/town wipe to get rid of ranked players;

No, I do not really support adding new minigames or making Meep into a minigame server;

We have a tutorial and a guide which tells players how to do most of that. Chest shops are quite simple once you learn. If they don't want to learn or play towny, there are hub servers.

If you agree with the solution you clearly don't think of the real life implications, and if you agree with the problems you can understand why staff are struggling now, so the least they need is people complaining, sure suggesting possible solutions are helpful like this, but not when it would turn the server into 24/7 advertisment.

It would take more than that, When I was your average nubby drifter when I first joined back in early 2014 I thought this server was actually good and I stuck around. The minigames actually had people in it, Ctf was always filled with people, Kitpvp wasn't awful, The staff team was actually good. All of that has changed now. From what I've seen, In order to actually get people to join a minigame is to offer a high meeble prize, when it use to be you just say "come join halo, ctf, etc!" Now the staff team.. Oh boy where do I begin, Literally most of the staff I actually thought were good got demoted/resigned, and the staff now really aren't the best. Some are good, others are decent, some are just awful. Most staff only keep the rank for bragging rights, or just to become more 'popular' which is a reason why I dislike most of the staff team. I'm not going to state any names because I don't want to start a flame war. To actually attract more players stop holding on to the towny of this server, Average 11 year olds that play minecraft aren't going to grind their time on a town, they want to have fun with minigames and such. Techs/staff just need to stop worrying about new things and revive things that were actually enjoyable on this server such as tntrun, dungeon, etc. That would attract more players. Also adding skywars, (and actually making it good) would attract atleast a good amount of players. With kitpvp, (That being one of the main things I use to do on here) The map is way too big for the little people, if not any that play it. The old kitpvp map I think was built really well. Just bring that map, or a even better map back, throw in some good fair kits and boom you have a good kitpvp server. That's not so hard, Is it? I know I'm ranting and I will probably get a lot of hate but at this point I really don't even care anymore. The only hope I see for this server is fixing minigames and adding more PvP based things (Skywars, Better terrarium, Etc.) Or maybe even a wipe so everyone can have a fresh start.

I have got to agree with the vast amount of what you said, mini games are awful now. we simply need to bring back those aspects of the game. I used to love infected and dungeon, personally. But now we are just told "it is being worked on".

Still we need to try and stay positive and help as much as we can!

I've tried staying positive for well over a year now, still nothing as happened. I use to view meep as the best server ever now I view it as a dying server.

I can understand your frustration, i have witnessed this server go from 1000 players to just 10 today. We still need to stay positive, life is supposed to be lived now in the present, it is useful to look back at how things were, but we have got to look to the future and figure out how to make it better.

I see what you mean, I'm impressed how you stay so positive for a server that was so great to what it is today. Maybe the server could go back to its hay-day with tons of people on constantly, that would be amazing if that happened but I seriously doubt it will.

This is what i am talking about, it is unlikely we will get back to 1000. But what we do need to do is improve the server back to what it was, when a bug or something being shut off, was rare. Now basically everything is not used or buggy. We just need to stay positive that things will get better!

Ug no ;o misunderstanding. At the time I hadn't read it (when I posted that) and said I agreed jokingly. Then I meant I had read it and I was going to state my opinion on it later but the way I said it, it seemed as if I had been saying I agreed with what I read; which is not the case.
