During the beginning of the meeting during which Fuzzlr expressed his concerns and hopes for the server, I remembered a suggestion made a while back. It was somewhere along the lines of /playerreq or something. Anyways, one of the main issues brought up was the fact that new players don’t feel like they’re entirely welcome; saying a mere Welcome to Meep! Doesn’t go as far as you think. Im suggesting that when a new player joins, it goes into the database; almost like Modreqs for staff but more simple: Orientation Requests or ORs. Now these OTs would be for everyone to claim, but specifically for players and not staff members.
Players would get a message on their screen (ex)
Welcome, McPlaya2341 to Meepcraft!
a new orientation request is filed, do /warp orientation to help MCPlaya2341.
/warp orientation would be a simple area like the /warp bank where there are signs with names of new players needing to be oriented. Players who are aware of the rules can right click new players names to claim help(age?)
The new player then gets a message;
WellknownFriend1515 (lmao idek) wants to assist you. Type
/accept to accept their request or /deny to deny it.
if accepted, WellknownFriend1515 would be teleported to MCPlaya2341. It is up to Wellknown to affiliate the new player, thus inviting him into the community.
It may seem hard/complicated but its really not. Just dedicating small amounts of time may lead to a steady increase of players. Not just cits who dont talk, but newer players invited into groups and encouraged to engage with people. If you dont feel like helping at this spectrum, Klutch pointed out that it just takes teleporting to a new player’s creative build or trying out their slots to help them into the community in a softer way.
If this seems far-fetched I'm sorry. I just thought it'd be worthwhile suggesting as we're trying to bring in new players :)
