I feel like if you couldn't do teamspeak you should have a chance of becoming a permanent helper.

Incorrect. The job requires teamspeak for a few very valid reasons. That being said, they should not tailor the job to the people, but the people must be suitable for the job.
Also, it seems like the helpers love to use caps and sometimes spam (I'm gonna start screenshotting). If a citizen or very low rank were to do something like this, they would be kicked and maybe tempbanned.

These groups are not comparable, the reason is staff dedicate hours upon hours trying to make sure those that are ranked and citizens have the best playing experience. Which is why the actions of last night are so absurd, because not only did they not do their job, they provided the exact opposite experience for their players, even causing a few to log off, and have their families do the same.
In my opinion, those staff who participated in this ignorant stunt should be demoted as they made it clear they do not want to do the jobs they volunteered to do.
