i just had an idea to add a command /debt check to check how in-debt you are with another player.
players could do:
/debt pay [amount] - to pay debt
/debt check [player] - to check all outstanding debt of a player (leave off [player name] to check your debt)
/debt create [player] [amount] - to request that another player owe you money
/debt accept [player] - to accept another players debt request (cannot be undone)
/debt deny - to deny a players debt request
/debt forget [player] - the player who created the debt can "forget" it
add your ideas in comments...
this new command would allow players to pay for items even if their balance is low, say if i was new and only had 2.5k, but wanted to pay for something expensive (10k), the person i am paying could /debt create and then give me the item, knowing that i will have to pay to get rid of the debt record.
sellers can use this to check a players "reputation" with /debt history, they can see all unpaid debt and choose not to do business with a player as a result .
idea: other players could optionally set a due date (/debt create [player] [amount] [due in (# of days)]). this could show up in /debt history as a permanent record if people don't pay debts on time
This would benefit:
- anyone who regularly sells stuff and wants to avoid being scammed
- staff, because it will reduce scam-related /modreq's
- players with low balance (by allowing them to buy stuff, which is good for the meep economy)
- the meep economy (see above)
in my aspiring-tech opinion, this may take a while to implement (few weeks to a month tops), but i believe the benefits of this idea will far outweigh the time it would take to implement. As for lag, this shouldn't cause much more lag than the /pay command is currently creating.
