Basically, this ruins quasi-connectivity, which is the driving principle behind virtually every piston door and auto-farm we have. Virtually every device will have to be invented all over again. This will also mean servers will be forced to stop using Java entirely.

Essentially, Mojang/Microsoft is getting rid the Minecraft PC that uses Java. The one they want everyone to use is the Windows 10 version, which operates the same as the Pocket Edition and Console. The problem is, it eliminates a lot of "bugs" that have made many great redstone machines and auto-farms. Their idea would be to unite the platforms so that everyone can use the same tutorials. It sounds nice, but it has several issues.
1. This may mean only computers running Windows 10 can play Minecraft
2. It will get rid of any mods made for the current version, and no one knows if you will be able to make mods for the new version
3. Same problem for plugins: they all run on Java.
So if this is carried out, we would have to completely rebuild every single plugin we have.

it sounds like it would basically kill meep though, so theres no real point for me to have minecraft without meepcraft. meepcraft has kept me alive, people turn to different things when there depressed, drugs, sex, alcohol, for me that thing was meepcraft, and the mere thought of not having it is very sad.

I like how easy it is to connect with Friends on the Win10 version of Minecraft and using a controller is quirky but that's it. The GUI is screwed up. And I'd hate to have to reinvent the wheel with plugins and redstone contraptions... not to mention that I'm just getting into Meepcraft. :(

The official announcements have not been made. The Windows 10 version is still in Beta, meaning it is being developed. They have already payed several map makers to use it as a means of advertising.

I'm not arguing for or against that, but remember Minecraft was started as a hobby. The original developers never thought it'd be this popular, and Java is most likely what they were familiar with.

A. Windows 10 is in beta and that may be changed.
B. I was talking about the version of minecraft that everyone plays
C. Nothing has actually been confirmed, yes Mojang will want to ditch java if possible though cause it's really bad

Its possible that the windows version will be out separately from the java version, in the same way you have the education version that runs on windows stuff.
