So...
For those of your who saw the second episode of Game of Thrones season 6 found out that Jon Snow was in fact resurrected and the biggest question left from the season 5 finale was finally answered! Jon Snow is a very popular character who was killed off last season by being stabbed to death by other members of "The Night's Watch" because he let the "Wildlings" that the night's watch had been fighting, across the wall to prevents them from being massacred and being resurrected by "White Walkers". This angered many people of the night's watch which led ended in Jon Snow being called a traitor, after which he was stabbed. There are many theories surrounding Jon Snow, such as; "R+L=J", "The Price Who Was Promised", and other theories surrounding his resurrection. Since Jon Snow has just been resurrected, I decided to discuss "The prince who was promised" theory. The prince who was promised is part of ancient Westerosi and Essosi religious prophecy of the religion of "R'hllor", AKA "The Lord of Light". The prophecy tells of a mythic figure who would be reborn amidst ash and smoke, and pull a flaming sword from the flames called "Lightbringer" to combat the coming darkness.
"According to prophecy, our champion will be reborn to wake dragons from stone and reforge the great sword Lightbringer that defeated the darkness those thousands of years ago. If the old tales are true, a terrible weapon forged with a loving wife's heart. Part of me thinks man was well rid of it, but great power requires great sacrifice. That much at least the Lord of Light is clear on."
―Thoros of Myr
Approximately 8,303 years ago from the current year in Westeros which is 303AAL (After Aegon Landing), A legendary figure named Azor Ahai was supposedly forged the sword Lightbringer which he used to fight of "The Great Other" (White Walkers). However, these powers came with a price. In order to activate the sword's power, he had the pierce his beloved bride Nissa Nissa through the heart. It is told that Azor Ahai will be reborn amidst ash and smoke as the prince who was promised. Beric Dondarrion is believed to be the prince who was promised since he ignited his sword on fire by striking it on his bleeding hand and engaged in battle with Sandor Clegane, until he was split the left shoulder down to his nipple. However he did not stay dead for long, as he was revived by Thoros of Myr who is a priest for The Lord of Light. Here is a clip from the event in the tv show:

Unfortunately, Beric Dondarrion only appeared in season 3 and hasn't been seen since.
Jon Snow was resurrected by Melissandre The Red Priestess. You may know her from that time she birthed the shadow demon and the fact that she is "always in the nude". As a Red Priestess, Melissandre only flashes her well-toned bod to men she sees when she stares into her flames. If she sees a certain person in the flames, it means that that person has most likely been chosen as the prince who was promised. In the premiere of season 6 in the scene where she is standing of Jon's dead body, she says "It was him that I saw in the flames, fighting at Winterfell." Also last season, she did in fact get nude in front of Jon Snow which meant that she "felt the light around him". Melissandre only engages in intercourse with the man she feels the light around to birth a demon that can assassinate anyone in the world. This proved that she wanted to make a dust baby with Jon Snow, but he wasn't interested and stuck to his oath to lay with no women and father no children.
Melissandre definitely saw something in Jon Snow that she thought was special.
To back this up, TheFilmTheorists uploaded a video detailing what I am trying to explain. I am going to show this to you since I am getting tired and bored of writing about this. So here it is, and thank you for reading!;
