Going on a trip! Excited!

I'm going on a trip with a group of about 15 friends about 500 miles away:
New Orleans!

Some of you may be familiar with traveling, but I haven't gone out of the state (or even region) in about 5 years. So yeah, I'm excited. The farthest I've ever traveled was to Oklahoma.

We will either ride in a school bus or a charter bus. It will be a 4 day trip, 3 nights, and about an 8 hour drive.
Even though this sounds stupid... any traveling tips? I'm probably going to forget something really stupid.

oo have fun! road trips are super great plus New Orleans is pretty dang cool! I've only seen it in the movies but I like the artsy-ness of it a lot! if I were you I'd bring some kind of portable gaming system for the drive :p

awwwsomeee!! Have fun and don't forget a pillow and headphones trust me, even though it's only 8 hours you have to drive, it's still needed lol :)

This post makes me sad because our year end trips to Montreal and Ottawa and Toronto were canceled due to strikes

Are you guys allowed to bring laptops?
If so, I recommend getting a lot of games you can play offline if the bus doesn't have WiFi, or if it's really crummy.

Sounds fun! I just got back from a 3 day camping trip, and I'd recommend bringing something to do on the bus. I didn't bring anything to do and I just sat there for 8 hours on the bus. Bring some money, and a charger for your phone. (If you have one)

Bring extra pads and tampons, the last thing you want to do is run out. I wouldn't recommend bringing a laptop or any electronics other than a phone/camera. Bring stuff like mad libs and travel brochures so you know cool places to go and actually talk with your friends.
