Can't join server :(

So recently I have been trying to log on to the meepcraft server and I get the following message, "Failed to connect to the server, Disconnected." I don't know if it's the new minecraft update, meep, or the fact that I recently installed norton 360 onto my computer. If it's any of these and you know how to fix it please let me know as soon as possible. I don't want to be kicked from my beta town I've come to like. Thanks

Open minecraft launcher > edit profile > use version > 1.8.9 > save profile.

Hey, is your minecraft version on 1.8? You'll need to be on 1.8 to join MeepCraft. To do that, go to your Minecraft launcher > edit profile > 1.8 (this might be checked to 'latest version' already, so change it to the latest 1.8 version.)

Let me know if that fixes it; if not, it could be location or Internet based. I dont believe norton 360 would affect this.
