Heh... Well this is interesting.
You have basically 2 cases;
1. People, who would actively play for a whole year.
2. People, who would barely be active during a year.
Now, it wouldn't make much sense to give a 10$ rank to the second group, right? Good. What about the first group? You seriously think, that there is an active player, who's played for a year, but doesn't have a rank yet? Just now way. Can't imagine that happening.
Now, let's be real. Is the server going to give out free ranks just for gameplay? Don't think so - no purpose whatsoever.
Having a lower rank than VIP for people who played for X hours... Well that's a different thing to which I'd say +1.
