I don't play skyblock, because it's not my thing. I agree with SMshortstack and Chairm on this that the mines would really be OP. Would actually would make an insane amount of money with little to no effort.
What really would be a problem, is the shop. The prices will drop an insane amount, cobblestone, dirt, jewels. The part with no pvp is also a huge problem if this was added, as it would be no risk = high reward.
I laughed when I saw your +1 on the review slide, then your post on this. xD
-1 to mines
+1 to Pvp arena though. I think having a private arena at the spawn would be really cool. (/duel)
(Shortstack's ideas aren't bad either. I actually +1 your idea to)

- Okay, so first off, as already brought up, the rarities on certain ores and such can most definitely be tweaked as necessary.
- There really wouldn't be so much of a problem with "too much" cobblestone because once things get to a certain extent, it allows people to be more creative with their items and craft more using slabs, stairs, and other types of bricks rather than desperately having the whole thing built cobblestone in efforts to simply have a platform. It's just a little bit of a push past those desperate efforts so that people can instead focus on -how- they want to build their "platform" and what they want on it.
- "Too much dirt" shouldn't be much of an issue considering it's *only* available in a rarity in the mines *only* after said player votes on all 5 available voting sites. This is an example where the pros will very much outweigh the cons. Voting is the most beneficial, cheapest way of advertising for MeepCraft, and it's even possible for Meep to get sponsored if it's voted for enough.
Someone wants to mine and spend tons of money (that they're now capable of saving up), with buying/selling/trading extra cobblestone and dirt to make an emerald, checker-boarded slime farm on the bottle of their island? Cool! Good for them, lol.
- Also, it forces/encourages players to interact with each other more as they have more of such items to collect, buy, sell, and trade in large quantity. Something I'll never forget from a conversation I had with Alien_Venom, Mistress and other admins from Old Meep is them talking about how much happier everybody was when they all had enough of everything to actually do what they wanted with it - rather than need.
I once had someone buy 10 double chests of cobblestone from me just because they wanted to/could, and it was something for me to work towards while still being capable of building on my own island, and it was absolutely amazing. It kept me hooked, gave me something to look forward to, and also kept them on. Another time I traded 2 double chests of Oak Logs for a couple animal spawn eggs and things because I had enough cobblestone to expand my island and room to build my animal farms.
Mining cobblestone at cobblestone generators was still common, but it was rarer and much, much less time consuming so everybody could still do what they wanted without working for 6 months straight at a generator. It keeps people interested, and connected with each other.
- PvP is enabled in the Nether mine, but none others. This is so that people don't have to fear about bringing their valuables with them to go mining and get what they need, but there is still mobs enabled so they still have to watch out for fall damage where others have already mined (lava is illegal in these mines, unless it's in the Nether, but still no dumping on other players. That's bad.) and also creeper explosions, zombies, skeletons, spiders, etc. There is also a small reward for killing mobs (it'd be around 10-50 meebles either randomly or depending on the mob, to be discussed. Nothing too big, just some incentive.)
- There's still plenty of things you cannot get from these mines, like animals/mobs such as cows, chickens, sheep, pigs, wood/trees, carrots, potatoes, obsidian, and all the things players generally enjoy making farms or generators for on their islands. That's a major aspect of the original SkyBlock that would most definitely be left intact.
- I'm glad that the idea of having a seperate PvP arena in SkyBlock is liked though, thanks for that much, haha.
If I missed anything or you have any more questions/comments/concerns on what I brought up here, please let me know! :)
