I think we should be able to buy stocks under $10/10 meebles. Tbh, they can be more risky than stocks that are over $10. I get why they aren't added, because someone can easily make a ton of money from it. But it can be more risky than $10/10 meeble stocks.

Say you buy a stock at 1 meeble each, the next day it's worth 2 meebles each, then you just doubled your money. Extremely op.

Yeah. But it's extremely rare that it will do that. If it was OP everyone would be millionaires in real life.

These are the ways people can make real money in the stock market:

1) Trade on insider information.
2) Manipulate market sentiment via media releases.
3) Use automation to do high-frequency trading based on complicated algorithms.
4) Buy and hold long term.

1-3 are not available to most Meepers (unless they have a relative in the right position for 1-2, 3 will get you banned), and 4 doesn't make a whole lot of sense for a video game.

Which leaves option 5: penny stocks.

Besides, it's worth introducing because real stocks often come with a benefit that's missing for buyers here: dividends.

+1 its more likely that money will be lost than gained, and is a fun risk to take for players with smaller amounts of money that would like to get involved with the stocks.

If you're lucky you'll make tons of money
If you're unlucky you'll lose tons of money

Honestly if you want to make money you have to be extremely dedicated. Checking stock prices on a frequently fluctuating stock is very time consuming and being that the stock market closes at four, if you aren't attentive you could get stuck with a bad price rather than selling earlier for higher and buying back when its low.

But I think that you shouldn't be able to buy stocks under 1 meeble. For stocks which have extremely low value, I don't even know if the plugin could calculate their value accurately.

It's just from yahoo finance. The data is from Yahoo finance. So if Yahoo Finance can calculate it, the plugin/game can :) I'm pretty sure. Don't take me for word on that :P
