I believe this is so if you were to change your name again, you still keep your shops and you don't have to redo them.
If you actually type out your current ign it stays as that.

When you misspell or leave out your current IGN while making a shopsign it will now revert to it's old name.

Like if I leave it blank right now, it'll have the name 'monkeyhead1999' on it instead of 'Muunkee''
It only happens sometimes and sometimes you arent able to destroy the sign without using /plot clear

As @Muunkee basically stated you just have to write your current IGN instead of letting the sign auto fill a name for you. Please let us know if this fixes the problem or if it continues to happen :)

I also had the same problem b4...but now it doesnt matters
