Introduction:
Hihi! My name is Melissa, but most people like to call me Mel. I'm going into my senior year of highschool this year, and have been actively involved in Student Government and Key Club since freshman year. I'm really into history, geography, traveling, language, and politics. When I'm older, I want to go into a field that somehow incorporates all that and be able to not only gain more knowledge on it everyday, but also to be able to put it to work.
Why should you be Helper?
When I joined the server earlier in the year, I vowed I absolutely would not become staff, and would instead just enjoy my time playing the game and interacting with the community. But honestly, I love helping people. I love being someone that people can rely on, it's really all I've ever known and it comes so naturally to me. As more time passed on this server, I realized I really love the community, and that I want to try to further my role in it.
As previously stated, I am involved in Student Government and Key Club at my school, which means I am used to taking on responsibility and am familiar with how to be a role model for others. I have experience with organizing events, running meetings, and am used to volunteering my time. These responsibilities won't affect my activity on the server, as I'm also very good at managing my schedule efficiently.
I also am experienced with Towny perms, as I'm co-mayor of two towns and have spent a lot of time running them. But above that, I'm a really fast learner, so I can quickly become an expert on anything. When I was staff on another server, we used Hawkeye, and I had it down within a day.
I'm not afraid to ask questions and I'm not afraid to get into the depth of any problem, regardless of who is involved. This means if there's a problem, I am very good at resolving it from an objective standpoint. Even if my best friend on the server broke the rules, I would follow up on the punishment to the dot.
What are your weaknesses?
Teamspeak
I know it's become somewhat of a broken record on staff apps, but Teamspeak is a bit of a weakness for me. I'm a very soft spoken person, and have difficulty inserting myself into conversations I don't feel invited in. This isn't true for when I'm typing, but when I have to use my voice I am incredibly shy. This isn't to say that I won't ever be able to open up on teamspeak, but instead means it will be a bit of a weakness until I'm more comfortable speaking around you all.
Empathy
I'm going to be honest, I have very low levels of empathy. This isn't to say that I'm heartless, but instead means I have to actively try to be empathetic. So my decisions are often based off the book, though I am a very friendly person. I don't personally feel this is too big of a weakness, as people usually don't know unless I tell them.

I am going back to school this week, so my hours of activity will shift from 12p-3a to 3p-11p. I'm definitely someone you can rely on to be active until really late at night on weekends though, as honestly I rarely have anything better to do.
