Basically it's just typing in the chat box like you would playing with a friend on a LAN server.
Unlike LAN (or any other server tbh) Meepcraft thought it would be a good idea to add a msg that cancels whatever you say if no one is near you. Go in the wild and type something (but not in shout or msg) and it will say "There aren't any players near you!"

TL;DR He's suggesting to increase the limit so that damn msg: "There aren't any players near you!" won't appear. (up to 128 blocks of course)

Thank you. I definitely understand and completely agree.
Increase the range and provide a message saying something like "It doesn't seem like there are any players around you, try using /shout or /msg [player]." When someone still isn't in the increased range to help new players get their voice out.

We tried this awhile back. it was ridiculous, extending it too much made it so there were no private convos in local chat.
