Sometimes this isn't meep's fault at all, go to minecraft.com and click on help to see the status of multiplayer. :)

Both of these are not the issue as the player was able to join other servers. In which case, it often is due to something with our server, though not necessarily something we can remedy.
Regardless, the issue should be resolved now.
