In my opinion the best argument is: If you don’t want the perks than simply don’t use them. This makes the most sense to me. If you want to the game to be as challenging as possible you simply don’t need to type in /heal, /fix, or /fill. The only perk forced onto you is /feed. I enjoy the challenge as much as the next guy, but to some the challenges are different. For me the challenge is figuring out what the heck to even do next! I was so clueless when I had started playing this past week. Without any commands my tools would have broken, I would’ve never made a cobble gen, I’d die every other fall; I would’ve been utterly lost. My point is that the ‘challenge’ is harder to some people simply to manage their island. I see tons of players that make it all look so easy, their islands are organized, and they have every type of farm and so many other things. For them having no perks is the only challenge they have, for us having perks is the only way to manage.
Having knowledge and experience is skyblock is more of an advantage than having /fill, /heal, and /fix combined. Even with these commands it’s difficult to expand the island without proper knowledge and experience. So I vote that the perks should remain.

The truth is that skyblock is competitive, and not only do perks make it not as competitive, they make it unfair.

Also, could you elucidate more on this? I’ve never once felt that there was a competitive environment in skyblock. The competition seems to be between yourself and your resources. There’s almost no competition amongst other players. Is there a sort of reward for whoever has the best island or something that I’m not aware of?
